Quick question about tires...plz help.

Hello mb world im new here from new jersey
I need tires asap for my 05 c320 4matic. I prefer a non straggered rims and tires so I can rotate them. I found a get deal for 18x8 245/40/18 rims with tires. Will these fit my shock supension? The tires on the car now the metal belts are showing. I thought instead of purchasing all around tires on rims I dont like but buy these used rims and tires for 450 would be a steal. Or if anyone is selling rims a tires deal lmk.

You wont be able to run 245/45/18 all around without koni front struts (they have a lil buldge under the spring seat) to accommodate the wider tires AND if the wheels have a perfect offset of like 33-34. So... You're pretty unlikely to get these wheels + tires to fit.

Thank you for the quick reply Saved me from a big headache lol. I looked through and through many threads but couldn't find a straight foward answer or the thread had 200+ pages. After buying wheel i plan on gettng d2 coilovers. What would be the ideal wheel and tire size with offset?

I think you need to talk to Phister on here. From what I have found from "searching", he seems to know tires and wheels like no one else. I am running a 225/40/18 on the front of mine now but the wheel is 18x8.5 with an ET30. Same rim in the back but have a 235/40/18 on it. Front tire stretches just a bit on that wide of a rim but it isn't major.

I ran 235/45/17 all round on my C240 W203 with ET30 offset on 8 inch AMG Reps. This will clear the standard front strut ~ just!

Could anybody tell me if I can fit a 285-30-19 tyre to my existing CLK63 AMG rear rims. I purchased with 275-35-19 tyres but looking at a cheaper than normal set of P Zeroes

Ferg,

That is a +1 sizing on that rim. You might get a 285, but depending on the offset of the wheels you are running, you may have pushed the limits with the 275. You just need to check your clearances. you are wanting to put a tire on that is 10mm wider and about the same height or maybe even not as tall. Stock your car (if it is around a 2008) came with a 255/35-18 in the back and a 225/40-18 in the front.

Thank you Poppy1.. Very helpful and to be honest I think I may have to look into it a little further. I'm set to purchase tomorrow so you may have saved me the time and doubt I could get a refund so possibly money aswell so thanks very much for your reply.

The answer is no to my knowledge unless it is a Black Series!
