I'm guessing you probably had a bad gas cap seal that was corrected with the second fill up. Octane difference wouldn't cause a CEL.

Ran 2 tanks of 87 during a road trip here No problems noted. In fact, I didn't even feel a loss of power.

Those south of the border stop crying about the price of gas, you still enjoy some of the cheapest gas prices in the world. Check the prices in Europe!

Here in Toronto 91 octane is $1.45 a litre which is $5.48/US gal.

The kicker is that we are a net exporter of oil

I travel back and forth between Germany and the States and let me tell you how lucky we are in the U.S.

In Berlin last time I filled up on REGULAR it was about $5.70 a gallon.

If you don't appreciate the prices here in the States then move to Venezuela, there its only $0.12 per gallon!

Speaking of "south of the border", Mexico's still subsidizing their gasoline. Stupid cheap. But don't feel bad, it's being used in cars they stole here.

I've heard Groveland, on the way to Yosemite on 108 is supposed to have the highest-priced gasoline around. I've always seen the highest in Lee Vining, out on 395.

At the bottom of Death Valley (I THINK the town's name is "Thermal") there is a lone Chevron station. If you need gas, you get it there or you walk. They have consistently over the years been the highest priced station in the country. I haven't been down there recently, but I would venture it's around the $6.00/gallon mark if they are following their traditonal pricing.

4.81 for 91 in southern CA gas prices don't really bug me.. because all gas is around the same price. If 89 was 2.90 then i would have a different story to tell.

Wow, you guys pay next to nothing for fuel. Two stations outside MB dealer today $4.99 for 91 and at $143/barrel today, that's going to be a bargain next week.

That must have been a long, long, long time ago. EURO exchange rate and etc makes that gal a lot more nowadays.

but in Europe, they dont drive SUVs with 12 Cylinders..the cars they drive, usually gives them about 35 miles per galon. My C240 gives me 15 miles per galon in average driving in los angeles traffic.
