seat problems again!!!

I have a c320 with memory seats. My steering column is set to go up and down automatically also. The seats/steering colums stop working sometimes. I had this problem in the past and dealer replaced door control modules. The problem still persists. Anyone else with this problem?

I thought I had the following problems:

1) Seat not moving with exit/entry feature: Searched the forum and found out that if the seat is past a certain point on the track it will not move with that function activated. MB-BOB, I think, pointed this out to me. Some sort of safety feature. But if I move the seat up a couple of inches it'll work and actually go past my memorized seat position. Go Figure?

2) Steering column not moving at times. There seems to be a delay after you start the car - about 3 seconds. If you put the tranny in gear during that time then the steering wheel will not move to your preset position.

i normally turn on the engine with door open.
i then close the door and the steering column comes down.

i can also close the door first and then insert the key and wait 'til the steering comes down completely. then i turn on the engine.

either way works fine.
i don't try to do 'em all simultaneously.
otherwise, BLUE SCREEN!

Now that I recall, I think I put the car in drive fast so it doesn't have a chance to adjust. I will keep this in mind next time and see if it corrects the problem.

Try it. Sit in your car and turn the key. The steering wheel should move. Now start the and the wheel will stop. After about 3 seconds it should move agin to your perset position. If you open the door during that time it will stop. This at times can cause a reprogramming of your set position. Openning the door during the exit phase doesn't seem to affect it.

Hope this helps.
