MJ50's W203 Mod Fever (OEM Retrofits)
I called Steve about the parktronic, and when I herd the $$$ I said no thanks! I ran out of money....
Does it work well? I have never been in a MB with it....so that new piece on your dash and headliner light up as you get close to stuff?

i haven't really got to test it yet since i had no opportunity to parallel park...
i fell in luv with it after i've seen it in action on W221 last year...
the displays light up when the car is moving <10mph.
when in drive mode, the rear display is turned off.
when in neutral or reverse, both front & rear displays are turned on...
in terms of sensors providing proximity levels, it works accurate....
Steve installed Parktronic (PTS) on my Coupe yesterday.
Already had the strips and some parts, but needed the final control module, displays, main harness, and coding to finish it off.
Had a bit of a hard time with my front AMG bumper, only because of fitment issues, but everything worked out.
PTS works very well. I'm really happy.

btw: that control module on the picture is for the auto tranny...the PTS one sits below that (not to be seen in the picture)
it was our pleasure - till next time

thx x-tian...
i agree... rather downgrade the car and get full options...
Front Display = ON
&
Switch Row w/ PTS OFF
I measured the distance of the front bumper to the wall... approx. 12 inches.
I measured the distance of the front bumper to the wall... approx. 8 inches. I thought it would be 6 inches, using common logic, but I inched (or half-inched
) the car slowly to see exactly where the 2 red lights would pop up. It turns out to be around the 8 inch mark.
and in turn I should be thanking Steve (aloha

I see you really tested your PTS system well!
12 and 8 inches isn't really what you call 'plenty of space', is it? It's a good thing, btw, that PTS has been completed now - finally. Enjoy!

can't wait to see it!

luckily I don't have to park 8-12 inches away from the wall. Normally there's about 2-3 feet of space in front and rear of the car, when I park both Mercedes in the garage.
But PTS will definitely come in handy, when parallel parking, and avoiding those parking lot cement barriers, that wreak havoc on my front bumper bottom.

anyway, thanks Wanda for your help & patience.

(The first pic is funny because of the lighting outside. I'll post better pics when I get the other strips on)
