I have to agree MJ....car looks great!
I called Steve about the parktronic, and when I herd the $$$ I said no thanks! I ran out of money....
Does it work well? I have never been in a MB with it....so that new piece on your dash and headliner light up as you get close to stuff?

thx belle...
i haven't really got to test it yet since i had no opportunity to parallel park...
i fell in luv with it after i've seen it in action on W221 last year...
the displays light up when the car is moving <10mph.
when in drive mode, the rear display is turned off.
when in neutral or reverse, both front & rear displays are turned on...
in terms of sensors providing proximity levels, it works accurate....

Thomas, I finally got around to it as well. The pics of your install look awesome !
Steve installed Parktronic (PTS) on my Coupe yesterday.
Already had the strips and some parts, but needed the final control module, displays, main harness, and coding to finish it off.
Had a bit of a hard time with my front AMG bumper, only because of fitment issues, but everything worked out.
PTS works very well. I'm really happy.

When you get 1 of the 2 red lights (each side) to flash and a beeping noise,
I measured the distance of the front bumper to the wall... approx. 12 inches.

When you get 2 of the 2 red lights (each side) to flash and a continuous beeping noise,
I measured the distance of the front bumper to the wall... approx. 8 inches. I thought it would be 6 inches, using common logic, but I inched (or half-inched ) the car slowly to see exactly where the 2 red lights would pop up. It turns out to be around the 8 inch mark.

Carlos,
I see you really tested your PTS system well! 12 and 8 inches isn't really what you call 'plenty of space', is it? It's a good thing, btw, that PTS has been completed now - finally. Enjoy!

luckily I don't have to park 8-12 inches away from the wall. Normally there's about 2-3 feet of space in front and rear of the car, when I park both Mercedes in the garage.
But PTS will definitely come in handy, when parallel parking, and avoiding those parking lot cement barriers, that wreak havoc on my front bumper bottom.
anyway, thanks Wanda for your help & patience. Steve said that he will be mailing me a new rear PTS display. So it's almost complete.

I had my parktronic and power folding mirrors installed. There's a lot of detailed pics in this thread, so I'll just post a few of mine..since all parktronic looks the same. As for the amber sidemarkers, those parts are on order. Steve will ship them to me and I will swap them out with the EuroStrips I currently have on. I want to be able to pass our annual safety inspection here with no problems. Technically, I can't pass the inspection without those marker lights. I'll post new pics as soon as those come in. Thanks again to Steve, Dean, and Wanda!
(The first pic is funny because of the lighting outside. I'll post better pics when I get the other strips on)
