04 C230 OBD II or not???

Just picked up a Autel MS309 CAN/OBDII scanner tool for my 04 C230 and am getting an "unable to connect" error.

Can anyone else with an 04 C230 M271 (1.8L Supercharged) confirm that it is in fact OBD II. I am being told by the retailer (china) that the C230 is not OBD II and I believe this is incorrect as Autozone, O'reilly and Advance have never had issues reading the vehicle with a scan tool. (I recent as one week ago)

The Autel MS309 is exactly the same as the Harbor Freight brand Cen-Tech 98568 tool.

Any documentation on this would be much appreciated.

I did find this on Actrons website, which is pretty convincing that it is in fact OBDII.

2003 C230K & 2007 C230

My '03 C230K was OBD II so it seems an '04 should be too.

Thats what I was thinking.

I just tried the scanner on two GM vehicles that I know are OBDII and got the same error. Unit is defective pushing for a full refund.
