2004 C .. what changed?
Anyone have a summary on what's changed (or upcomming mid year change) on the C?

I haven't heard anything on the non-Sport models. There were a few changes to the Sports model such as upgraded front brakes (crossdrilled rotors and 4 piston Brembo calipers), 3-spoke steering wheel from the C-Coupe, clear fog lamp lens, aluminum pedals, oval exhaust tip from C-Coupe, lowering springs (similar to Eibach lowering height).

It seems like the instruments are going to change in February 2004 according to Autoweek. Along with clear headlights and DVD based Navigation system. Or are these changes only for the C55?

Forget the sales staff. My guy didn't even know what the hell I was babbling about when I ordered my car back 9/03. When the first few new Sports started to roll out, he said, "you were right...how did you know?" mbworld.org idiot!

For 2004, all C-Class models received the following.
1. New windshield washer arms (S-Line wipers)
2. New Center Console (CLK style)
3. Different headliner material (from C-Coupe)
4. New Rain Sensor (8 Sensor array)
For the 240/320 Luxury Sedan, the 4Matic got much cheaper and includes heated seats as standard. The Sport Sedan upgrades have been mentioned already.

See, never understimate the knowledge of the community. 
Information from dealers is a hit and miss experience.
I'll bet that most people who sit in a 2004.5 won't notice all these subtle changes.
I'd like a new C240 4Matic but can't swallow the depreciation on the 2001. Need a private buyer
Still, the car isn't different eanough to get excited about a new car.

i called downtown motors where i purchased my 01 c320 and asked them about the 2004.5 sport sedan...the lady thought i was making the 4.5 up..she said that there was only a 2004 sprt sedan model and never heard of the 4.5..wierdos made me think I was crazy..why are dealers trying to hide the 2004.5 models?

is this for the 2004 or 2004.5.. they are different arnt they?

These changes apply to all MY04. The MY04.5 upgrades applied to the Sport Sedans (230/320) only. These were marketed to the dealers as Updated MY04 Sport Sedans. Therefore, they may or may not use the MY04.5 designation as this is not officially used by MB.

i heard they redesigned the interior and looks lots more sporty!
(steering wheel, odometer display (audi style), head unit)
i think there are also minor weaks on the exterior to make the car look sharper.
