MB Service Survey!

I was contacted by my MB service advisor and he said if I gave them a excellent rating on the MB Service Survey sent by the corporate office. He would give me anything from the parts counter up to $120.00. I have a 2003 C230 Sport Sedan. What should I ask for? I already have the all season mats. I was thinking about all three cargo nets that go in the trunk. Thanks for your advice!

Ask him first if that $120 is at full retail or at wholesale. (j/k)

The cargo nets are crappy. I went through 3 sets in 2 weeks before finally giving up on them.

What happened to your nets? I am still on the 1st set, and they are fine except every now and then cord ends get out of the plastic hook locks, but this is easily fixable.

MB takes these surveys very seriously. If your dealership has done a great job, then by all means, fill it out with excellent marks. But, if service has been sub-par or there have been issues, then those should be addressed, no matter if they tell you to fill it out with excellent marks and comp you on goods and services.

If dealerships receive anything less than a 90% on those surveys, MB comes down on them (dealership) and the dealerships may lose training, support, etc from what MB provides them until their service is back up to excellent marks.

I mean, I know just filling out a survey with excellent marks and getting free stuff for it is great, but if there are problems and you don't address it because you get free stuff, then the problems may never get resolved and MB doesn't know about it.

yeah, i understand what you're saying.

my dealer treats those that buy from them, gives the customer an excellent service. my family has been buying from them for years. i just like free stuff... makes me all mushy inside.

i agree with others, and i would seriously tell the dealer that they are sinking to a new level, especially if they give a customer free goods, which means it might be illegal huh?

MB should really know about this, and take action against all of the dealers

My dealer does the same thing...I got 2 freebies so far, all worth $150. In my mind I would have given perfect marks anyway, so why shouldn't I get freebies?

Since getting my car in Sept 2001 - I have yet to get a survey in the mail. They keep telling me to fill it out - but never get one.

This is what they gave me today for free for giving them a good review:

2 side cargo nets $115.16 installed
1 sill cargo net $39.00 installed
1 cargo tray $186.44
1 UV sunshade $74.12
1 certificate for Hertz rental for $100.00

Total value $514.72

Did I get a good deal for filling out the survey the way the wanted? I am happy. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Let me tell you guys why this survey is so important. My buddy dated the sales person who sold me my car. And.....

Apparently if they (sales person) get a high rating, they will get more MONEY for themselves (significantly MORE in commission) and earn their particular dealership HIGHER points with MB (which leads to them getting the pick of stock when new shipment comes in, etc etc)

Great industry eh? :p

That's exactly what my sales person told me.

When I returned my survey, she gave me the winter floor mats as a "thank-you".
