lights flashing - this ever happen to you?

If I put my key in the ignition and leave it in position 0, After about 10 seconds I get quick intermittant flashes (about a second apart) of all the lights, interior and exterior? This has happened sporadically. I can't get to happen all the time, and I have only noticed it when its dark out, so I wonder if the light sensor is in play here. I always use Auto on my Headlight switch. Now that I think of of it, it has always happened either in my garage or at dusk, so it just may be the light sensor is is saying turn on the lights and the ignition switch is saying turn off the lights right after because we are in poistion 0. Seems like an electrical bug, and I wonder if it exists in all C's as a manufacturing defect or it may be just mine that does this.

um....This is a feature to indicate you have left the key in the ignition. RTFM...it's in there!
(with Norway settings, the horn sounds off as well)

No reason for attitude Rick. I ask the same question when I first started here.

It's Normal ! Lights Flash !

If you put your key in the ignition, according to the owners manual, the lights will start flashing ..this is the SECURITY system.

This happens in daylight , too. It is so dim, however, you must be looking for it to see it.

This may be a dumb question but what does RTMF stand for, this is the only one I have never been able to figure out.

That's our little Ricky. He's such a charmer!

He does have a point, though. Not to point out the obvious, but if you encounter something several times, it's either that the car's really f***ed up, or it's something that you don't understand about your car, which should lead to an appt. for 5 minutes with your manual. That's something that I found when I realized that no, my windshield washer fluid motor wasn't broken; it requires pushing to the second detent to work. DOH!

RTFM is one of those expressions that sounds worse than what is meant (usually), so don't get too bent out of shape.

HEY! I'm a super member now! When do I get my cape and tights?

Benzo, I'm crying, that was so funny!

The best part about that pic is the look on that kid's face who's getting the party favors.

You crack me up. Hey - is your car already going to be in storage on Saturday? If not, any chance that I could see it? It's hard to visualize 18"s on the car without seeing it in person.

No, I will have the car all weekend. I am just storing it in my garage anyway. I won't be coming back to Cali until Sunday AM. In another beautiful rental. I think it's an Impala this time.

What I described at the top of this thread is not found in manual. It is not a feature. I am not refering to the MFD displaying a message that you left your key in the ignition. This happens with the door closed. Its hard to describe. All the lights flash for a second every second or so and keep on flashing. It does not happen all the time, only sometimes. So far, it has not shown itself when the headlight switch is in the "Off" position, only in the "Auto" position. If no else has experienced this, then that is the answer to my original question. I think those who think its a feature have the "key in the ignition" message in mind. This is not like that at all. It may not be a problem either, it may be a benign symptom of an electrical system design flaw, or it could be a problem only in my car. With all the user friendly messaging that goes on in this car, I find it hard to believe they designed this to let you know what? "the key is in the ignition and your door is closed"?

What you are describing is what we are talking about. The flashing of all lights including the fogs.

This is a feature so if you leave the key in the ignition and walk away it flashes to show you.

Howdy Folks:
I've had difficulty reading the manual (guess I'm more into short stories), when will the movie be out?
