C240 Idler Pulley help!
Hello MBZ world,
Newbie here! I registered for this account because of the following scenario: I was driving on the freeway, accelerated when I heard a pop sound underneath the hood followed by "alternator belt and battery image" showing up on the dashboard. Steering wheel became rigid and water/coolant leaked. Underneath the hood I could see that the Idler Pulley popped off and serpentine belt became loose.
I need help on replacing the Idler Pulley on a 2001 C240:
1. What is the appropriate torque amount when tightening the Idler Pulley and the Automatic Belt Tensioner Pulley?
2. What tools & sizes do I use for both the Idler and Automatic Belt Tensioner pulleys?
3. Any videos on how to replace the above?
Thanks a bunch!
