HIDS4LESS but takes much longer...

they seem to have a policy of charging in order to hold your place in the order queue (but i certainly don't agree w/ that!) but several people have said that that was done (but they didn't mind enough to cancel).
i spoke w/ Michael (the president) who has been a bit more responsible and Jeff. kyle? well...
if you have received your order, please post here. if you have anything to add, feel free.
as for me, after michael apologized for the situation and for kyle (who is very busy... yeah...), i switched to type 2 ballasts and got a tracking number. i expect the kit tomorrow but i wouldn't be suprised if it is totally wrong... (bagwell, i hope that keeps you happy till the next installment of the Young and the Hidless...
)i am still going to send out a voluntary survey (anonymous) after people start installing the kits. i'd really like to be able to send out the results to various organizations... including european car magazine!
I decided to put mine off until fall because with daylight savings time switch approaching I don't think I'll be driving in the dark that much and the Phillips Vision Plus bulbs are great. I think they will drop in price by then as more kits become available and the HID option is available on cheaper cars. This is like when ABS was a option reserved for the rich and now most cars have it. Also the MB Bi-Xenons will be available and possible Hella will make a projector headlight bi-xenon kit like they do for other cars.
[B]you can get the Hella HID Plus (equivalent to Stage 2) for $410 shipped.
Can u post a link where we can get it? thx

Young says that the Stage 2 kit from HID4Less is a Hella 6000K bulb.
Let me and the rest of the forum know how it works out. I have no control of their prices, this is what they quoted me a week or two ago.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
and installation looks like it will be a snap.
i will install them sunday (although i want to do it now) as i've set up my appt at the dealer for wednesday...
btw, my recommendation is to stick to the type 1 ballasts if you don't mind waiting a little longer. the extra piece needs to be mounted by vecro somewhere, etc... it's just another piece to worry about.
type 1 is made by philips. type 2 is made by panasonic (matsu****a, whoo hoo!).
bluec230k, i emailed autolamps to see if they have a group buy. but if you are interested, yes, you will have to set it up... i'm a little worn out from dealing w/ hids4less...
so which company is this?
Now I just need to find a dealer that would be willing to change my settings over!
schedule to have your speed sensitive settings changed... maybe an oil change or something. then talk to the mechanic... (skip the service manager) and see if she'll do it.
<strike>otherwise, how comfortable are you w/ creating a relay? there is a relay diagram floating around from autolamps.com to make the hids work in our cars.</strike>

Resetting the computer is the only way to get the HID to work in our car. The computer is too smart to be tricked.

are you asking how to set daytime running lights to on or off? that is in the manual but i forget exactly how. i'll look it up sunday when i install the hids to turn them off temporarily until i get the dealer to reset it.
angel100, dgnan confirms that w/out the computer set to xenons, the hids will NOT work. they will flash however so you know that they sort of work (at least that the polarity is correct...)

It took a little while to get them, but the fact that they had promptly refunded the amount overcharged (as for stage II instead of stage I) gave me some peace of mind. I had a strong feeling that they would do as promised. So they did.
Thanks, Young, for making this happen! Thanks, HID4LESS folks!
