C350. 2006 58k miles
rear pads shot so I replaced them
I did NOT purge the brake lines
Went out and bedded the pads. Everything cool.
Next day clutch almost on floor! And can not put car. in any gear
I bled some air out of the rear lines and now car will barely allow me to engage a gear. But clutch pedal still close to floor
Is their air in the clutch fluid and if so, how to purge it?..
Should I purge the front brake lines ?
Help
undrivable
Thnx

Bleed all of it...starting from rear right, rear left, clutch, front right and then front left. You have to start from the farthest point away from the reservoir to the closest, that ensures the entire system is bled.
By the by, I've changed many brake pads before, never had to bleed the system unless air got in somehow...

On my M271 6MT it's under a rubber cover on the underside passenger side of the tranny. Unmissable..

@RWD - When bleeding the Brakes/Clutch, did you use a pressure bleeding method or two-man Press/hold/release method?
I was thinking about buying the Motive Power Bleeder to do the job, but a little fuzzy on whether pressure through the master cylinder reservoir would bleed the clutch as well without engaging the pedal? Logically, since it's all interconnected, it seems it'd bleed the same way.
Thanks

I used a one-man bleeder from harbor freight...you have to do a lot of moving from inside he car to under it while keeping an eye on the reservoir, but doable. Brake bleeding is not something I expect to do on a regular basis, that's why I didn't want to invest in a pricey kit.

Ok, Good to know. I was thinking the same thing, dude. I didn't want to have to purchase the Motive Bleeder, since like you said, I wouldn't be doing often. I just didn't want to harm anything while engaging the brake/clutch pedal..Originally Posted by RWDlifer

I presume this was what you used?
I was thinking of purchasing as well, since the bottle is much bigger.
When doing the clutch, was the procedure the same as brakes? Press clutch, hold, bleed, close bleed valve, release clutch?

With the one man bleeder you can pump the clutch several times...there is a check valve to prevent the fluid from flowing back..and yes, that's the one I used...Originally Posted by Norsk_Johnson

Hey RWD, did you have to empty that little guy after each caliper? It's a small little container, that's why I ask.Originally Posted by RWDlifer

If there are any important tips, please let me know. Will probably be doing this weekend..
Thanks bud.

Yeah I did...it fills up pretty fast.
You can also use a larger container, like a water bottle. Just make sure the end of the tube stays submerged in the brake fluid.
