Question about sunroof . . .

Hi,

Exactly how far does your sunroof open when it goes to the "not fully open" first setting?

My sunroof opens until only about 4 inches remain to go. In other words, it is waaaaaayyyy past the half way point. Is that the standard setting? When I picked up my car, the guy explaining things seemed caught off guard by how much it opened on the first position but seemed to think that was correct.

Thanks in advance,

CP

Mine opens about exactly halfway.

Mine opens 1/2 way on the first push, all on the second. But, I'm having trouble closing it with one touch.

I do not think there is any way to close it with one touch. The manual says you have to hold the button.

Best regards,

The sunroof can't not close w/ one touch due to the safety issue. I wish MB should use the "anti-trapping" feature like Bimmer and it will solve the problem for holding the switch forever to close it.

FYI, the sedans have one-touch open and close, with pinch protection. Can't figure out why the coupes don't have it.

Edit: The only reason I've thought of is that they can't figure out how to just have the glass close and not the shades. They might figure people don't want the shades to close w/ the glass on one-touch. When opening, of course, the shades and glass need to open...

the E320 loaner that I am driving doesn't have one touch closing either, or it has but I just don't know about it.

Mine opens about 2/3rds of the way on the first stop, then the rest on the 2nd stop. Makes a noticable difference if going very fast (above 60) at the smaller opening, so I'm glad it's there.
