Extended Warranty
I am trying to weigh the value of having an extended warranty for my C320 2001 model with mileage around 27K:
Could someone comment on the extended warranty:
1. which deductible do you have (or suggest):
2. how many years: and mileage:
(i.e., 5 years / 100K miles)
3. if you're in Atlanta, GA and have the extended warranty for your Benz, which dealership did you purchase the warranty from?

extended warranty: get it or not?
so the consensus is what? get the extended warranty or not? i calculate i will be at 65.000 in 4 years. should i get the warranty?
my other car was a mitsubishi eclipse - didn't need a warranty then - would i need an extended warranty on an mb?

Extended M-B factory factory warranty to 7 years + 160,000 km, cost was $1600 CDN ($1200 US) a year ago.
Whether it's worth it or not depends upon how well the car has behaved up to now and also how long you're going to keep it.
Ours has had a string of problems, each of which would cost several hundred dollars out of warranty. The latest is that the heater flap control motor failed....

let me clarify my question:
I would like the opinion on extended warranty purchased after I have the car for couple years (so it would be considered purchased not from MBUSA).
It's the warranty that is provided by third party provider through MB dealership here in GA.
Please share your experiences.

I just got a quote from Caliber Motors in So Cal to extend the factory warranty.
1 additional year $1500
2 additional years $1900
3 additional years $2300
She was very vague about what it covers. Anyone purchase the warranty and know what it covers, exclusions?

I bought the 3yr @ ~$2300. So far its not paying off as my average is 11K a yr..whereas my previous cars were at 17K a yr. Seems I drive alot less these days. Anyway figure I can't go wrong..since you can transfer it to the new owner or take it with you to your next MB for the difference between costs (pro-rated ofcourse).
