C55 or the C32 Seats can Work in Any W203 Sedan.. I installed the C55 Seats in the C320. you just need to check the Wiring for the adjustment Controls.

Thanks for your response!
How do you like you amg seats in your c230?
How bad was the install and how much did spend?
Assume you bought on eBay?
What do you mean that I need to check wiring for adjustment controls?
You mean that I need to look at my cars seats for compatible electrical connections?
Any pics??
He has some pics on his build thread here, but the links are not working now, unfortunately.
Help him answer your question by saying what adjustments you have in your seats and provide pics here with the adjustments and connectors if you want a helpful response.

Hey Tommy,
Thanks for the tip, will take some pics of the connectors.
It's useful to know someone else has done this, but so frustrating when I search and find what I need and then the pics are deleted..reviewed his thread before and then tried for 30 minutes to open pics..
Can't Remember Where I got them from but it was the Seats and Door Cards From a C55 I Installed into my C320..
the Seats Are Way Better than the C320 Seats I had.
the Install are Straight Forward nothing crazy
Cant Remember what I paid think was like 250-500 maybe.
the Connect are the Same on the W203 but the Wiring for the Adjustment (Back Rest, Head Rest, Bottom Seat) are different meaning you have to get the Wiring Diagram to switch out the Wire Connectors to be in the Right Position.

Maybe a back up plan is just to swap out the cushions?? Seems like it would be relatively easy? The only substantive difference between amg and c230 on seats are to be the cushions with the soft leather and white stitching?
Also, what color is your car - might help with chiming in on color options...
Is there anyway to merge this thread with others like it? (WaveyKat, etc.)
Hey Buddy,
Thanks for the tips.
Briefly saw your post but I thought it had to do with complete removal of backseat.
It would be a great idea to merge threads, but I have no idea how to do that?
It seems like peeps on this forum are a little sensitive to starting new threads??
Read the moderators thread on noobs making threads without searching appropriately? He sounded really angry? Lol
I like to start threads to get opinions...and even though there are similar threads they aren't always exactly what I need.
Plus it's fun!
Anyways, My car is silver exterior and black interior.
Would love to get my hands on some two tone leather but so hard to find!!
There was a time (several years ago) where there was an influx of traffic, where they were all asking very similar questions, and the threads got to be a bit out of hand.
On any forum, though, if it is apparent that the person is starting a new thread without any sign of a previous search, it does get a bit annoying. It gives the appearance that the 's time is more valuable than that of the people who would be answering their thread, and that's no way to start off on a good foot. I don't think you're in that boat, though.
Only mods can merge a thread. And yes, the power does go right to their heads.
I did have an upholstry shop swap out the leather for a passenger seat when I had my C230; wasn't very expensive, but that was with manual adjustment controls. Still, probably not a bad DIY project if you want to.

I found a pair of C32 AMG seats in the JY for $100 and swapped them into my 02 C320 wagon. Cleaned them up and everything was plug and play. The C32 driver's seat belt buckle was worn out so I swapped my old passenger seat buckle into the new seat. They don't match my interior but I don't care. They're far more comfortable and supportive.

That's a sweet find and a great price!!!! I am assuming that most of the seat swaps are power seat to power seat swaps. My coupe has manual seats but I would love to put a set of AMG seats in the front.

Yes but from what I can tell, you can pretty easily remove the seat cushions from the power seat and remount them in a manual seat frame.
Hey can anybody please help me with this install on this C55 seats into my C32
I haven't worked on that specific project, but I expect that you will run into some of the same challenges I encountered when I retrofitted C63 seats into my C230. You may find a strategy for tackling the challenge in this thread: C63 Seat Retrofit
It's likely that there will be more similarity between the wiring in the C32 and the C55 (they are both W203s) than there was between my car and the C63. If you can scavenge wiring harnesses out of the donor car from which you sourced the seats, they may come in handy.
W203 elegance retrofit amg two tone seats, can I be dinr
Hi,
i know this is an old thread but some of you may be able to help as it looks as if you have had similar ideas.
I've just bought an AMG interior which has the seat controls in the door panel,
my car is an elegance with the seat controls in at the bottom of the seat, is it possible for me to just put the AMG seats and door cards in and will it work OK?
if it's not possible, is it possible for me to keep my existing seat frames and just swap the leather seat and back cushions over or will that be an issue and keep my existing door cards?
Is the AMG interior from a W203 (C55 or C32) or from a W204 (C63)? What year is your car?
I think you are more likely to be successful if you have a 2004 or earlier W203 with the C32 seats. If you have a 2005 or later W203, the C55 seats will likely be easier.
Can I just replace the seats and cards or is there something else I need to be doing?
If I need to buy additional parts then I can as I bought these seats from a guy who is breaking his car so he’ll have most things available
I suggest that you visit the car from which you obtained the seats and the door cards and obtain the following items:
1. The wiring and connectors that ran from the seat controls to a connecting point in the car. For example, they may have run from the controls to a CAN bus connector.
2. The wiring and connectors that ran from the seats to a connecting point in the car.
If I were doing this, I would attempt to learn as much as I could about how the seats and door controls linked together and take photos of the set up. You will need to make the identical set up in your car that was in the C32. You should consider posting the photos here so that other board members can see what you are working with and suggest solutions.
You may also need to program the car to recognize that it has memory seats.
Ignore the above, he's wrong. If the donor C32 had power seats and your car doesn't, you can simply remove the C32 cushions and mount them on your manual w203 seat frames. You'll end up with manual AMG seats. Problem solved, you're welcome.
