Hi All;
I own a 2005 c230 Sport Sedan, and trying to wire a wifi back up camera. Need to locate the back up lights wire and another wire for a power source for the wifi transmitter. I do have the Haynes manual for wiring diagram but it's so confusing and doesn't seem to match my wired. I think the reverse lights wire is the yellow-gray wire. What do you all think? Does anyone know what the colors of wires indicate??
Yellow gray are reverse lights? For wifi transmitter, which wire would give constant power?
This is so confusing and doesn't match wire colors?

I tried fitting a camera to my past Rover 75. The problem connection was not so much the reversing light wire but the reversing wire behind the dash. I never did find it.
constante no hay .. solo el negativo es continuo ..lo tendrias que sacar de la fuciblera trasera del lado izquierdo .... ahora si necesitas que la camara prenda cuando pones marcha atras ahi si conectas al faro gris / amarillo
Sorry to resurrect this post but i have a similar problem. I'm installing a backup camera to my '07 w211, but im confused about reverse lights' positive and negative. Any idea which color to connect?
Just open up your light and see which one powers up the reverse bulb. One look at the circuit board and you'll have your answer.
You might also want to ask in the W211 forum.
The circuits can handle quite a bit of juice, especially if your car uses P21W bulbs. No power issues. Also no need to find a chassis ground. The ground in the harness will be sufficient.
