Cool New Pictures of my C230

Hey guys - I just posted the first pics of my C230. For those of you who haven't received your C230 yet - if you want a close-up of something (e.g. stereo, optional wheels, etc..) to satisfy your curiosity, feel free to let me know. I COMPLETELY understand!

Nice pix...

And would that be oyster leather inside? I'm waiting on a black/oyster 6-speed, C5, COMAND, K2 myself and am delighted to see some pix of a black one (and in very nice surroundings--I might add.) My friend asked if the oyster leather would be served on a pile of ice, or if there were a crab leather option available (complete with burl walnut nutcrackers with which to crack the armrests.) I told him M-B was looking into it.

I'm looking an an early Feb. delivery date, so it's nice to see some real world examples until mine is in the garage. Thanks.

Beautiful location!

Could you take a pic of the cassette player slot? I've not seen how the radio opens.

Could you also take a picture of the glove compartment? Do you have the factory Cd changer?

Also, how does that license plate frame attach to the front bumper? Here in NY they require a front plate too.

Thanks very much!

Thumbs up Nice!

As Wesley Snipes said in White Men Can't Jump, "So pretty!"

I'd like to see some interior pictures - the shifter in particular. The one that I'm waiting on has C7, too.

Good luck keeping that black paint shiny & swirl free!

Thumbs up Beautiful Car!

Is that Oyster leather?

I have a black/oyster/manual/C1/C4/C5/C7/CD on order (Feb. delivery) and would love to see some shots of an oyster leather interior.

In the meantime, I am going to take your pics and make them my computer background. Thanks!!!!!

P.S. Let me know how you like the car. It looks great!

Interior shots please!

I'm also waiting for a black/oyster leather coupe and would love to see the oyster. The dealer only had oyster on a CLK, so I haven't actually seen what it looks like with the aluminum trim, etc. Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys! If I had Oyster leather, I would take pics at any angle you wanted, but alas, I don't. My previous car had some issues which I was afraid would strongly affect my trade-in if I didn't get rid of it as soon as I did. So I compromised, and took the oyster cloth. It isn't as bad as the pictures suggested, and I'm actually quite happy with it. Nevertheless, I'm taking everyone's advice and checking into after-market leather. If I go that way, then I'd probably be looking at getting it sometime early next year.

I'll get those requested pics posted right away. The digital camera battery was dead this morning, so I'll take them tomorrow.

IrishinNE - to answer your question about how I like the car... I am very happy. As you can see from the pictures, it's a very rural area. There is a creek that flows through the entire valley, and the road follows the creek. Since the road still parallels the water, there are some great kiss-your-butt curves to throw the car into. I've found that, unlike a Honda or Acura, the power in the Benz is much lower, so I often don't even have to go down to 2nd gear except in the tightest of curves. I'll floor it half-way through the curve, the rear wheels will chirp, the ESP light blinks at me, and I slingshot to the next one. Life is good.

Hey Buellwinkle - nice wheels!

Here are the pics you asked for Bud. There is one that shows the slot for the cassette tape and another that shows the CD Changer. Let me know if you need any others.

More Pics

Cheers!

Smile Thanks!

At the risk of sounding crude:

So that's what I'll be playing with for the next few years!

LOL - if you think so now, just wait until you figure out how to put it in reverse.

I've found the 6-speed to be really cool - especially if I have a friend along. I'll cruise at highway speed in 5th gear for a little while and then pull it back to 6th gear. If the person riding with you can drive a stick, they usually are subconsciously counting the gears. Pulling it straight back from 5th to 6th will freak them out since they are expecting it to go into reverse. It could be a little slicker like a Honda, but I got used to it.

Great pics!

Thanks for the interior shots. Even though you don't have leather, you DO have the oyster-colored plastic (ooh, I hate to use that word). So far I've only seen the charcoal plastic, except for a tiiny little interior shot in the brochure. Do you think you could take a shot of the whole dash area (like, from the back seat through the 2 front seats? It's great to get a look at the oyster plastic with the aluminum--very slick. Is the top of the dash gray, or black? I'll be getting a black/oyster leather 6-speed myself before too long, production is 3 weeks out. I'm sure you remember the feeling.

Thanks again for the shots.

Yeah, that part is wierd. When I ordered my car, the images on the MB website looked like a charcoal interior except that the middle, patterned part of the seats was beige. This worried me a bit, but I was relieved to find something better (see link) in my car when it arrived. However, if I had expected black or dark gray on the top of the dashboard, like VW Jettas have on their interiors, then I may have been a little disappointed. I'll let you be the judge.

Sooo, it's tan?

Dash looks kind of tan. That'll work. It coordinates well with the seats and the other plastic. I thought of 1 more shot that would be cool to see--the gauge illumination at night. Orange? White? Thanks.

Mine is the plain black, which is all I would ever consider when buying black. Metallic blacks seem to lose that straightforward, no BS element you get with just plain sexy black.

Onie - welcome to the forum. Nice wheels! Beautiful car too - that is the first one I've seen in that color. I wish the 6 speed had the chrome trim around the bottom edge.
