My 2004 C240 4Matic runs very nicely! Except for one thing. Once in a while when idling at a light, I step on the gas pedal and nothing happens. The engine doesn't rev. It takes a few tries of pressing the pedal before the engine revs and the car starts to move.


Otherwise the car runs smoothly and has full power. There is no hesitation, no rough running, no stalling.


I saw this issue brought up in this forum years ago but it was never resolved.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you have a faulty pedal sensor or faulty throttle body---hope for the pedal!!

Scan test ME2.8 and most likely you need a new pedal

I think I know what's going on here. When I installed my sprint booster I had to disconnect the pedal sensor. There is a round black button dial on the pedal. It's not the sensor, but if it is even turned sillightly the throttle will deactivate. Try moving some stuff around on the pedal and check connections and maybe you will get lucky.

Yes any device installed between pedal and wiring just causes trouble. Throw it away!
