W203 Rear Back Seat Stuck Down - Help!

I folded my back seat down in my '04 C32 to haul a few tools. The backseat can no longer fold back up due to an apparent middle seat belt lock. I tried tugging the belt with no luck in getting it to loosen up. After searching through the web, it appears this is common for the ML benz, but for the W203 C-class, I did not find many people with good solutions other than cutting the seat belt.

I've begun to disassemble the back of the seat (I see the metal backing of the seat only at this point), but before I completely tear it apart, does anyone have any easy solution to fixing this problem? What a PITA!

Odd. Sorry to hear that. Can you post a picture please? I can not image how this would lock up...the ratchet mechanism for the seat belt it self is locked? Try pushing it in or, if the car is on any sort of angle - get it level.

Here is all the info/pictures on my fixed to folding conversion if it at all can help...

I will take picture this evening. Basically the center seat belt in the back seat is locked up and holding the seat back down.

I am going to attempt to remove the bottom seat cushion to access the T45 bolt holding the center seat belt anchor to the frame, as shown in this picture:

Your bottom seat cushions are not folded forward for full level load?

As long as you can release the back catch (pull handle) the seat bottom cushion should pull right out after taking the two nuts off.

Yes - Agree. I would pull that bolt before cutting the strap!

Mission success! I removed those 2 bolts, pulled on back catch, and off goes the bottom cushion, providing full access to the T45 seat belt anchor bolt. No need to cut belt!

Btw, I didn't do full level load since I didn't need it. I can't imagine the fun of having to fix this if the seat belt locked in full level load position (yikes)
