Never enough oil?
I have a 2003 C240 base sedan (not 4-matica), and I just changed my oil. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w40 as my car has 125,000 miles on it. Before the oil change, I checked the oil level on the dash and it said oil the level was ok. But, after doing the oil change and adding just 7 and 3/4 quarts, I checked the oil level in at the dash and it said to add 1.5 quarts more. I don't want to over fill the engine. Has anyone ever had this happen? Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
Could anyone at least tell me where to buy the after-market oil pan dip stick for the W203 C240?

and then my girl's $50K ML350
doesn't measure electronically (even of course though we know is it, since it tells
you to check it when it's low) won't tell you if you need one quart etc.
Likely just a check mark in DAS to turn it on, but they only put it on the 8 cyl model.
Trust yourself. Don't overfill, unless you forgot to put the drain plug back in
before refilling....speaking from experience of my youth. DOH!
I just did a quick search on the web, and yeah, oddly enough, it's not easy to find.

If you don't one you should invest in one.
Order direct from Mercedes for like 60 bucks.
If you put in 7 3/4 quarts, you should be good.
Ignore the dash.
It says 8 quarts...or 7.5 depending on the engine.
So good thing you mentioned, standard version, non 4 matic,
because there are THREE different documents for c240 of that year depending on the engine and if it's 4 matic. 123-125 mm is the correct # for that car.
See attached.
You should be at 170mm-172mm.
Doc tells how much oil to add if you are low.
I've included the other 2 docs.
4 matic is .5 quarts less than the regular.
AMG, is it the Supercharged 6? 112.961
OK, enough screwing around.

I was beginning to think my efforts your behalf
were for naught.
As far as the disks sold on ebay, might be a hacked WIS library,
which can be a beettch to install on your computer, not to mention
the 'hacked' part. Who knows what's on those disks, and I had to constantly set the date back it said it was expired. Until finally it quit working.
This give you access to the entire service library for every vehicle, and is normally sold as a subscription to mechanics.
You can also buy access for like one day direct from Mercedes for like 20 bucks. A quick search trying to find the link turned up a site offering it for free! Ha, well, not downloading on this computer.
I have a drive setup in XP with nothing on it, except Carsoft...maybe I'll try that.
I now own 2 vehicle specific DVD's direct from Mercedes, runs on PC at least until windows 7. And has pretty much every possible document from the WIS on the specific vehicle, ie W203 and W164 in my case.
60 bucks each. No worrys about viruses etc.
