w203 - will these wheels fit? 20x9.5

Hi,

New to Mercs and buying my first w203 in the next week. (2006 sport c180 with 48k's)

I'm already planning my mods. Been offered a smoking deal on these mags but I have a feeling they wont fit.

Can anyone confirm this for me?

Thanks, Peter

How much money do you have and how bad do you want to run 20"s?

too big?

Does that mean that I'm looking at some significant mods to get them to fit? I wasn't hellbent on 20's but these came up on no reserve auction so I wanted to check before bidding on them

20" rims will fit no problem without any mods,.... tires, now that's a different story.

Any feedback on what I would need to do before I potentially make a very costly mistake...

Am I looking at 45p, 40p, 35profile tyres?

Stretched/undersized?

Really not sure if 9.5" rims fit. The widest stock wheels on the W203 are C55 wheels, which are 8.5" in the rear and I believe 7.5" in the front. Maybe someone else knows better here, but I'm leaning towards no, especially on the fronts.

The other thing to keep in mind - just because they install properly, doesn't mean they won't rub when the suspension is loaded or the steering is turned.

Unless you know for sure, you're probably about to make an expensive mistake.

9.5" will fit rear for sure, front are better off with 8.5",... especially if you want to be able to turn the car!

But like I said these 20" rims should fit, without mod,..... tires,... forget about it, who needs tires when you have 20" rims! But if you insist, probably 30 profile tires,....

That said, if OP actually want something steerable with rubber tires that'll absorb some road shock,... the max size without mod would be something like:
Front:
9x8.5 ET29 235/35R19

Rear:
19x8.5 ET29 235/35R19
19x9.5 ET35 265/30R19

You are driving a BENZ, why in the world would you want to put some wheels made in China on your car?

Safe some money and put OEM wheels on your car and go down in size. 20's may look great, but most likely will ride like crap.
