Goodbye and Thanks....
Well, After a 20 months of being a member of this great community and having great fun following the ups and downs moments from our many very opinionated (and insightful) post leaders , it is time for me, regretably, to say so long to you all.
I traded my Coupe in for a certified 2000 Acura TL 3.2. Why? I really need more doors and more room
(Wish I can trade UP to an E class but that is just to $$$ at this time for me.)
In case you are interested in the values being traded:
My Coupe - 2002 model at 21,500 miles and was in pretty good shape but needing one fog light lense and new brake pads. No mods whatsoever. Trade-in valued at 17,800 USD ( after being low balled at 14,300 at first by the dealer, what a pain in the rear to negotiate with these guys). This is highest value I could get anywhere (my own MB dealer maxed it at 16,200
)
The TL - 2000 model year metalic red in mint condition (really is flawless) with 37,800 miles on the meter. It has everything but the Navi system. Certified by our local Acura dealer. Priced at 18,060 down from 19, 800 asking price (more pain...)
I dont know if I got taken to the cleaner on this deal or not but I just got so tired from it all (is that how the system is supposed to work against us consumers???)
Honestly, I miss the handling and performance of the coupe already. Sighhhhhh... The TL ain't no C class for sure (but they are for different drivers to be fair)
What I dont like about the C Coupe: The seat - too hard and too short. it actually causes back pain for me (one, if not the main, the reason for getting the TL replacement). And NO, the pillow didn't help
. The Pana roof could not be stopped from rattling incessantly - even after 4 visits to 2 diff dealer). The driver sitting position is odd (for me). I found myself kind of twisting/bending my legs to the left to gain proper control of the pedals (further adding stress to my back).
What I like about the C Coupe: Everything else !!!
The TL needs anti-roll/sway upgrade big time. ANy suggestion ???
Thank YOU - I learnt quiet a bit from you all.
Good luck and have fun![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

P.S. The dealer noted and showed me where the transmission fluid leaks so you guys should have a look-see, too.

Congrats on your purchase.
Personally, I would find it hard to trade in a 2002 Coupe with under 20,000 miles for a 2000 TL with 37,000 miles...and you still had to pay money out of pocket for the TL...I could prob. justify that for a RL, but not a TL.
Did you do your research or was this the first TL you saw? Just curious because if thats the going rate for a TL it held it's value very well.
Either way, good luck and enjoy.

Congratulations on your purchase. Sorry to hear that you had to give up your MB. Don't know if you've visited the following forums but they are a great source of information. I used to own 2 CL's and a TL myself. Great cars for the money.

Good luck with the new car.

sad to see you go, but have fun with the new ride.
BUT, a 2000 TL's still $18k...now that's wack. In SoCal, a 2000 TL is around $15-17k depending on the mileage. A 2002 TL w/ 33k miles is about $22-23k. The only thing that can explain the high price is your example has low mileage for a 2000 car.
