What state are you in where they only allow 50%? I thought 35% was pretty much the standard.

New York.

Are you saying that 35% is better?

I have 35% all the way around on my Brilliant Silver vehicle. It looks good while not being "Pull me over and stop me" dark.

you will be disappointed with 50% tints- you won't even be able to see it; stick with 35% and even go 20% if you don't want people to see inside your car (but 35% probably will still look dark bcs of your black interior) GL

Can someone also please point out where I can find clear/smoked cornering light covers. I want to replace the stock orange ones.

I searched on the boards but have yet to find a definitive link to a 3rd party site. Thanks.

If by better you mean darker.... Yes. The percent is a measurement of light that's allowed through. The lower the percent, the darker the tint.

I know a lot of states where I have lived do not allow tint darker than 35%, although some have different laws depending upon which window it is. It would be a good idea to check out what the law is in your state before you get tinted. Could save you some time and money down the road.

Ok, I was board, so I looked it up on the internet:

Tint laws by state

As you can see, in NY, you are only allowed 70% on the front and back side windows, but it looks like there are no restrictions on the back window.

70% is not very dark.

First of all, that's going to be illegal - you need orange bulbs to be legal (I think that they're 194s). Now, if you choose to ignore that (I've got euro strips to install, so I'm not one to talk), it's up to you. I THINK that there are bulbs that, when unlit, don't show through the clears, but that light up orange. That would be the best option, imho, as they're invisible until you need them at night. But it's your car - experiment with different ones; they're cheap, so a fashion faux paus won't cost you much.

Anyone know how to go about getting a medical exemption? I have pretty sensitive/light eyes, so maybe I should ask my eye doctor.
