Anyone have Bixenon problems?

Has anyone else experienced this? My right xenon doesn't come on occasionally. If I shut the car off and restart it does come back. However, the color is slightly different than the other. How long do the xenon bulbs last? I am taking it in for Service A next week so I will have the dealer look at it. I know it will work fine for them and they won't want to change it but I am going to request a new bulb.

I did notice a color difference on a BMW 330ci last week. One was more blue than the other. That is the same thing I am experiencing. Weird!!!

I had that issue as well. My driver side light wasn't turning on. And I would have to shut the car off and restart then it was fine. of course MB of Princeton coud nto replicate the problem. Although they did see the error codes, the wiring and everything checked out fine.

Possible igniter or blaster problem. It happen to one of my mod Bi-Xenon unit and after replace the unit everything work. My problem started with delayed turn-on and later it won't even turn on. Nothing wrong with Bulb in my case...dealer even replace my bulb to see if the is bulb problem.

Could it be weather related?

The passenger side is also the one I'm having problems with. It started about three weeks ago on a rainy day. Come to think of it, I think it's always on a day with moisture. I did look inside the fixture and did not see any condensation. Little things like this are so annoying. I will let you know if the dealer finds any problems with it.

The bulbs should be good for about 10,000 hours. Check your electrical connections.

I noticed having this problem only when I don't drive my car for a week at a time. The right Xenons would start like 10 seconds AFTER the left one starts. Battery not charged all the way. I bought a charger for it and kept it charged all the time and the problem went away.

Bi-xenon question problem after instal

Hello guys i live in So FLa and i bought a set of bixenons for my 05 c230 ss from Steve. Well i got them installed to a guy that had the computer needed to activate them. Well the install was great it was a excelent job. Well on the way home my lights were set to auto , But when they went on they were flickering. So i pulled over and turned the car off and turned the car back on they were working fine i went on driving with the lights working. I called the guy that put them in the next morning and he said oh you might have badd lights, Well what i cant figure out is why when i start my car at night and the lights come on automaticly and if i leave the car started for about 1 min or so they work fine . But if i start the car and immeditaly put the car in gear they start flickering like crazy and this is the error message i get.. Left low beam Right low beam.. Its weird its like if i let the car set for a min or so they were fine but if i just start the car and go they go crazy. I have to make a appointment to the guy that did the install because i went there like 2 days after it happend and he told me to come back. So my question is to the board is, Is this happening because of faulty headlamps or just a plain old badd install? Or maybe he didnt program them right....Anybody please help i need to know what to do. Mercedes benz wont help me out for anything

I had a similar problem. Steve did my retrofit, worked fine for a couple of weeks then I got a "low beam right" warning. Turns out my ballast was bad so that was replaced but then it started to flicker but I never got the warning messages on the screen. It turns out that the light bulb was just a little loose so I rechecked the connections and made sure nothing was loose and now it works flawlessly. Question is do you use your BIX with the fog lights at the same time or just the BIX by itself? If you are using it with the fogs then try it without and see what happens. I would also check the connections first, if it still persists, then buy some new bulbs to see if it might be the bulbs (bulb type is D2S). You can buy cheap one's on ebay to see if they work, there's no sense in buying something expensive if it aint really the bulbs...nall mean? Good luck

No i only put them on without the fog's. And i dont want to have to buy bulbs i just spent 1,250 for the headlights about 2 weeks ago. I hope i dont have to send them back. Because when they go on there really blue then they dull down do a hyper white 'same as all xenons'. So i cant figure it out. I think it might be something with the instal/programing because why do they work when i leave the car idle for a min or so? Its like it has to send something to the computer to let the car no the xenons are there. But i hate it , Its so ghetto like when i vallet i have to tell the peps not to turn the headlights on because they'll just flicker its so stupid wort 1,500 i spent!

it might have something to do with the programming then. I think if you do a search, somebody has posted some instructions and pictures of what it takes to set Xenon-->Present through stardiagnose, maybe you can print that out and give em to your install guy. Though, I would still check the connections to make sure nothing is loose. If it is indeed one of the components of the lights, I'm sure Steve will send you a replacement ballast or something since he sold it to you, he has a good rep of taking care of his customers. Also, I usually don't put the light switch on auto, I turn it all the way to the "on" position, then turn it all the way off when I'm not using the car. Nevertheless, I feel your pain, I had to live with one headlight working for 2 weeks before it was fixed. Hopefully it's a programming error that the install guy did...good luck

Same Problem

SCFALIA, I had the same exact symptoms that you are having. I too purchased bi-xenons from Steve just a couple weeks ago. I actually had the dealer change the computer setting at my first 1000 mile check up a couple days before I got the lights. When I received the lights I installed them and checked the lights before I reinstalled the bumper (with the car off). Of course they work great so I put it all back together only to find that they flicker if I turn them on right away when car was on, and other times work fine. They would always work 100% if the car was off. I again took it to the dealer and had a different tech check. He said that it wasn't set, and that he changed it. They seemed to be working fine, but later that night they fu**ed up again. I then went to a different dealer that a couple of members on this forum had gone to before. They changed it and everything has been fine since. I guess there is some extra step they have to do when performing this change, and if it is not done then it will not transfer to the car.

Hope this helps

whoops....meant to write to " GusGusZ ", not " SCFALIA ". Sorry for the confusion.....

*** Also.... are both your lights messing up? If so then it must be the computer. Unless both light got messed up in shipping?
