Yes you can but you will need to make it virgin first. Then teach in drive authorization

You will need to use a computer and flashing software. Make the unit think it is fresh from the factory, aka a 'virgin'. From there, flash the software onto it, and plug it in. Should be working properly.

You both talk about this like anyone can do it. What computer do you need. What software?

This is not a DYI project. You need to have a live connection on STAR to even consider this.

Who said its a DIY, if you don't have the ability or tools to do it then don't touch it, we just saying what needs to be done! Open ECU desolder flash, read it, edit the bin file, solder it back, fit it to the car, then use xentry to personalize drive authorization then activate ecu so it's locked to vehicle, check and change variant coding if necessary, clear learnt values, adapt throttle position, all done.
