I am thinking to change my C..

Guys

I really love C Class and the models or MB cars these days are really amazing.. So I am thinking to change my C to another model of MB Cars.. Looking for E Class or the new SLK otherwise will wait until the new model of CLS coming to our country in order saving money lol..

Any one can comments on my decision?

Regards

Tariq

The C is an entry level car for a reason - Mercedes wants you to move up into a bigger, more expensive one - all their advertising is aimed at influencing you that the C isnt good enough. The E is nicer in every way but once you get that you'll be eyeing an S (not the current bloated one though) - of course people will agree that you should move up - unless your happy with your car and it doesnt matter what people think which is unfortunately not typical of Mercedes owners.

I have both the W203 and W211 and I gotta be honest and say I truly enjoy and adore my W211 4 times more than my W203. If it is economically feasible for you to upgrade, then do so-if not then dont. But as Mercedes101 pointed out then you will prolly want to jump to a S class once you would have that E Class for a bit...

I thought about getting an E but I found the delay in the electronic brakes disconcerting and the floaty ride similar to large american cars. While I have no doubt that the E is better than the C, it's just not a ME car, at 47 I'm just too young to own an E, S, Sedan Deville or a Continental. The new E has been plagued with problems, worse than the C.

Get the SLK, it's fun, well built and comfortable. at least in it's current form.

The elecronic brakes are substancially improved in MY04 and later due to software updates.
That floaty feeling is eliminated if you have the sport package and set to "Sport 2". Good luck round the corners

The SLK however is not so comfortable - lumbar support is virtually non existent but otherwise its an awesome car. It is also one of the most reliable MBs - go figure!

I'm switching to the C Class. I had an E500 and will be picking up the CDI car at the factory next week but will sell it as soon as it arrives home. My concern is the problem with the brakes. I didn't like the feel of the brakes on the E500 but did get used to them but this recall for the failure problem has me concerned. My wife has told me that she will not drive the CDI car since she doesn't have the strength to activate brakes without any power boost.
I have been really looking forward to the CDI engine performance and fuel economy but will have to see if in the future the SBC is replaced before I will tru another "E."

Actually Mercedes and Bosch are discontinuing the electronic braking system (source: Automotive News) as soon as they can, as it's been an unmitigated disaster.

All 680,000 E Class and SL Class cars with the electronic brakes are being recalled. They're going to be band-aided even though the entire system should be removed and replaced with "lower tech" systems that work.

The E and SL cars with these poor brakes are going to plummet in value when Mercedes introduces proper braking systems into these ranges.

I would not touch an E or SL at all until the new versions come out.
