2002 C230 Kompressor
CD changer

I just recently bought a 2002 C230 kompressor and am wanting to install a cd changer. The head unit has the changer button on it, and i was wondering if it was prewired. I have read that i must buy the OE changer, but was wondering if i could buy an adapter to put aftermarket in. Or should i scrap that idea and just buy a new head unit and everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you put in an aftermarket you'll have to go the FM modulator route and will loose control of it thru the headunit. Advantage here is that you can get one that will play back MP3s.

That depends on your taste. If you have BOSE, you didn't say, the Audio 10 CD will interface nicely and you won't loose all the functionality. But again it won't play MP3s and some have reported that CD-Rs and RWs have difficulties being read.

Now if you don't have BOSE you can install whatever you want thru adapters for power and faceplate.

You might want to on here as this issue has come up numerous times.

What is wrong with the bose??

It can bump with the best of them

It has the best high pitch and great bass

If you tune it right it truly is great
