New '05 C-Class Owner
Picked up my '05 C230 Sedan yesterday from my dealer. The interior changes are extremely nice and make the wait for an '05 worthwhile, plus the AMG body kit is good looking.
The car is Black with Charcoal interior and as far as options go has:
Auto transmission
Lighting Package
Sunroof Package
Heated Seats
Power Front Drivers Seat and Steering Wheel/Partial Power Passenger Seat (Formerly Comfort Package)
60/40 Folding Seats
CD Changer
MSRP on the car was $35,930, I picked up the car for $31,965 +TTL. I feel like I got a great deal. Hopefully I'll have some pics up soon, Ill be taking a road trip up North to break it in.

Turbo2,
Can you tell us if the auto transmission has buttons to shift on the steering wheel. If so where are they located and how do they work? I'm a little on the fence as to an auto or stick and this detail might just make the decision for me.
Thanks

Congrats on the purchase. Two questions:
1. How is the sound system?
2. do the memory settings still include the rearview mirrors' positions? strongly considering a C230k coupe, but have not seen an '05 yet and both dealerships I talked to would not say for sure that they did.
Thanks!

2) Yes they do, for C230 and C240 memory is only for driver only the C320 and C55 will have the enitre seat controls for the passengers also.

Thanks for the words, I just called the dealer and told them what I was willing to pay and we got down to the number I wanted. The car is amazing, I'm glad I opted for an '05 as opposed to a 2004.
Nuvolari-
As amdeutsch stated, there are no buttons, that will most likely be on the 55 only, however I am very happy with the auto. transmission so far. It seems as if it is hard to find C230 Sedans with manuals so it may be harder for you to find what you want.
ayilar-
I have the standard sound system, wanted to get the HK system but couldnt find a car that matched my specs. However, I am extremely pleased with the system, not amazing by any means but very good for a base system.
Yes, the memory positions still include mirrors, however I'm not sure if that is true on the coupe, I can only speak from experience with the sedan.
Thanks

Where did you get that kind of deal? Who was your dealer and how can i locate him/her? I live in So. Cali. Thanks for any help. I plan to go to look at the new '05 this week and from the pictures I've seen in this forum I'm already in love with it. Probably will be purchasing in about two months or so.

Got my car from a local dear, EuroMotorcars in Bethesda, MD. I told them the price I wanted and we went from there and got the deal I wanted. Just be informed about prices when you first talk to them and don't settle for a price you don't want.
Good Luck

BMW 325i
05 c230 sport sedan stock sound system
I sampled the 05 stereo was unhappy, sounded low fidelity, also display washed out in sunlight, unreadable. Recommend upgraded stereo (entertainment pkg).

Turbo2: The coupe is indeed the issue. All the area dealers had several sedans in stock as of last week-end, but no coupe -- same situation yesterday.
Two additional questions:
1. Did you compare the new base stereo to the HK?
2. Did your deal make use of any special MB incentive (e.g., C-spot coupon, etc.)?
Thanks in advance for the reply.

Phenominal deal. I'm shocked your dealer was willing to let one go at that price when they are in such limited quantities at this point. I would have gone for that deal in a heartbeat, but the most any dealer around here would do is $1000 off MSRP.

No, I did not compare the HK with the base system, that would just make me want the HK system more/be disappointed with the base system. The base system is not amazing, but does a good job.
No, the dealer did not make use of any incentives, however they did have a deal that took $100 off the price for every mile you drove to their dealership (max. of 10 miles), which I used and took approx. $1000 off the price.
guitarman-
Thanks, nope, no trade in, just a straight purchase. I will be selling my other car privately.
Dr. Chill-
I was suprised too! I could get an '04 for the same price as an '05 with the options I wanted plus the updates the '05 has, so I figured I might as well.
Sorry it's taken so long to respond, been doing too much joyriding in the new car.

Turbo2,
I got my car at Euromotorcars too. Congrats! They gave me a great deal on my 01 C320. Who did you buy from?
You gotta start hanging with us at the meets! Almost every weekend...Check the GTG/Events forums, we might do one next weekend, June 4th or 5th!

I know what the C32 owners mean, There will be mad C32 look alikes out there so it takes away from the limited production C32 styling. And I bet alot of people will try to rebadge the C230k as a C32 AMG... Although under the hood it's a totally different story!

the AMG bodykit has been available for other country even before the C32 came, so to me it's not a big deal.
