2004 C240
2004 C240 bluetooth

As in many states, Georgia recently passed a hands free law. I really like the aesthetics of the cabin in this car, and don't want to rip out the stock radio for a 7 inch touch screen unit (and don't really want to spend $800 to do it) just to get bluetooth. I do not have a nokia cradle, common in the 2004s, but do have the wiring to the center console and have what appears to be some sort of jack in the front left of the top console tray, behind a plastic cover. Looks almost like an Ethernet connection, but doubt that's what it is from 15 years ago. Does anyone have experience using the nokia connection and one of the aftermarket bluetooth units. Would love to hear your experience. Also please let me know if you have better ideas. Thanks.

Can you post pictures of the connection and your stock radio?

Sure. One picture is of the stock radio - when you push the "Tel" button on lower left, the phrase :No Phone" comes up.
Next picture is a (bad) picture of the cable coming out of the lower armrest compartment and into the lower side of the upper arm rest compartment.
Finally, a picture of the port in the upper armrest. Doesn't look like the few nokia cradle connectors I have seen, but I have only seen one or two.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to respond.

Hope the pictures uploaded - can't see them in this preview.

So I went out and experimented - the connector jack fits a RJ-45 but has 10 pins (connectors) if I counted right.

I don't see the pictures, but I'm guessing it looks like this: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...oth-phone.html
I've never heard of the "Argos" option mentioned in that thread. I'm sure you could find the OEM parts on-line to complete the system you have (I did with my 2006), but I'm not sure it would work with a newer phone or give you Bluetooth. If you can confirm that it will work, that could be a way to go.
I'd start with the Bluetooth dongle in this thread, and see what happens.... https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-...ooth-04-a.html
There are some of them on E-bay but they are ridiculously expensive...
I know aftermarket doesn't look great, but compared to these expensive options, it might be the way to go.

I have c240 2004, I want to add bluetooth to my car or AUX port. I didn't find any aux adapter by the right door or any UHI Connector in armrest. Any way to add Bluetooth. I don't want to spend $6-700 on stereo!!
