My local dealer does not have a color chip or car yet. On the MB web page you can't tell what it really looks like so I would be interested if anyone on the board has seen it and can give some kind of comparison to regular black.

get regular black

Any kind of metallic black looks like green or purple or other colors in sunlight. Get matte black and pocket $700 in mettalic paint charge. Only mettalic color worth getting is silver remember that.

We have a diamond bl. C55 on the showroom floor...it's kind of in between midnight blue and black, but it's not as rich looking as flat black. IMO I'd go w/ black and as said previously, pocket the $680.

Ok....here's the SLR concept in Diamond Black. As you'll see, it has dessert silver, magenta and aquamarine flecks in the paint to give it casts of those color in different lighting. Sometimes it looks deep blue-green...sometimes almost purple...sometimes it looks like a deep metalflake black.
