2003 mercedes C230 Kompressor 1.8 manual 6 speed transmission.
Hi. I´m a new member.

My name is Maury an a Mercedes Benz owner for long time. and have a question hopefully somebody can help me out. I have a 2003 Mercedes C230 Kompressor 1.8 Engine with a Manual 6 Speed Transmission. 2 weeks ago a went to work and suddenly I heard a noise and noticed that my car stick shifter was kind of loose, when return to home I parked the car and got under the car to see if I was able to find where the noise came from and why the shifter was loose and find out that one of the connecting rods on the linkage pop out, I put it back where belongs and check the shifter and was not loose anymore but when I test drive it, find out that the reverse was gone and to shift to 1st. and 2nd. gear, I had to pull the shifter up like when you shift into reverse, the rest of the gears were fine, but no longer can go in reverse. After checking on the web, how to fix the problem, find out that what I need to do to fix the problem was Sinchronize or Adjust the Shifter Linkage but was not able to find information on how to do it, that´s why I hope somebody can help me on how to do it. Thank you for your help.

There is a connecting rod that has a big ball connector with a metal clip on it, mine has popped off and I didn't have 1st, 2nd or reverse. I put it back on when the car was in neutral and all works correctly now.
