"A Mercedes-Benz product"
Well, actually I have some good news...I save a bunch of money on my car insurance!

On a more serious note, MB said they maybe will pay for the part, but I have to pay for the labor. So tomarrow I am going down to the dealer and paying off the lease in preperation for my 2005 C. The car I have now is my parents, but the 2005 will be in my name.

I have to go check with the dealer, but can someone tell me how much does extended warranty cost ? how long / miles ?

Also, is it cheaper if I get it before my 1-year car anniversary, and does it go up after 1 year. I got mine last September, so maybe I should do it before then ?????

If your car is over 1 year old you cannot get a MB extended warranty. You will have to go aftermarket, which is more of a hassle as they dont cover some things and there is a deductable.

Post Warranty???

As you probably know, the "warranty" issue has been discussed before and mainly comes down to a "funds" issue... sometimes spending the "extra" money does not warrant to the buyer to make the expense, or simply can't afford it... then... as time and time again it has been seen... the firt time the vehicle breaks.. that time alone it normally will pay itself for the price of the whole warranty... I am glad for those like CitronC230K_03 that do have their extended warranty on hand (MB warranty does not cover "everything" that there is on the vehicle though)

There goes your mod money man.

But seriously im sorry to hear. But im not surprised anytime you take the car to MB it will cost atleast 1000. Are you going to look into a new car or keep it? are you getting a warranty now?
that would pretty much pay for my extended warranty.

I'm helping a family member get an '01 or '02 C240 or 320. Presuming they get a non-Starmark car, I called a local MB dealership about extended warranty prices (told them 35,000 - 45,000 on the car). They quoted me $3,500 for a 6yr 100,000 mile extended warranty. Is this ballpark?

I paid $1,800 to stretch my new 4yr / 50,000 miles warranty into a 7yr / 100,000 miles.

I guess I will see what happens down the road.
I thougth about getting the extended warranty, but now I am not going because I am going to either get a last of the NICE c-class and not the Bangle-ized 07 c-class, or get something different altogether. Given my current experience at the moment, see ya, MB!!

How can you say the 07 will be Bangle-ized when you have no clue what it is going to look like

There are people here that bought extended warranties from a woman named Lisa I believe. She gives great prices. I think around 1800-2000 for 3 years. I mis-read the post above. For 6 years thats a great deal for 3500. When I read it the first time I thoght it was for extra 3 years.

topspin so is that 6 years on top of the standard 4 year?

IMO......I would have to consider all of the facts;
1. How great a deal is the non starmark car?
2. Can you get a starmark for $3-$4k more than the non starmark? Better deal due to the automatic 12month added warranty that comes with a starmark car.
3. Higher value due to it being a starmark car.
4. Then prior to the 4year warranty ending, contact Lisa at Chico MBZ,and get 3 more years for $1750 max. Now you have 4 more years after the original warranty ended.

Last.............
On the Extended warranty, There is a set price by MBZ. Lets say it is $1750, the finance person will try to sell it to you for $2300. When you say no thanks he will counter with another offer. It is your job to get it at the MBZ price of $1750 or $1800 max. He just made a $50 commission. But he would not let you leave with out it even at $1750 since his sales numbers will go up.

Actually I do, thank you very much. There was a thread in this forum about the 07 C a week or so ago with pictures.

True, but from the further info that's been cokming out about it, it's looking mighty close to what can be expected.
