Need advice ASAP, please
Hello,
I’m new to this site.. but I’m in desperate need of advice.
i have a 2002 c230, and man, do I love this car.
on June 13, another driver wasn’t paying attention, and merged into my lane while we were driving down a city street. Cosmetic damage (a lot) to the drivers side. The car drives (pretty well actually) but the locking mechanism is detached from the drivers side.
the other insurance company deemed it a total loss.
they said I could keep the car, and they would deduct about $600 from my settlement.. no big deal.
my husband talked me out of keeping it, and now I’m having serious doubts, not that I can really do anything about it at this point anyway..
sure, cosmetically it’s flawed, and she needs new tires and an alignment (no big deal), but it only has 87,600 miles on it. I’m just so sick over this. The fact that they’ll take her to a salvage yard is breaking my heart.
because of the age, did I do the right thing? Or should I have kept it? It’s bizarre how attached I realized I am to this car. It akin to having a pet and knowing it’s getting ready to be put down.
