There are no front paddings. 2005 model C230 and C320 comes with #2 padding in the rears. Changing from #2 to #1 will lower your car by approximately 1/16 of an inch, maybe 1/8 if you're lucky. Check this link, it's a picture of my car back when I had Eibach Springs with #1 paddings. Good luck.

Although I would suggest getting Coil overs. Here's the current car.

Spring Pads

I was wondering what number spring pads are on the stock W203s?

It's a function of what options/configuration the car leaves the factory with. The number is determined by a "point system".

No need for a new thread. Found 11 different threads just by advanced search in the w203 forum.

ok so the guys at school have been picking on me... Also, if you guys got a shop to do the spring install for you...do you guys mind posting the price of the springs you got...price of install...and any comments on the ride quality?

Okay, just to keep it on topic of what the "spring pad" does, the spring pad will raise and lower the rear ride height depending on the # spring pad you use (1 smallest - 4 largest).

If you want to find out what suspensions are available and what to go with, look at the suspension thread in the AFTERMARKET / DIY Sticky at the top of the w203 forum and post in there if you have any questions after reading through that.

quick question about rear spring pads

hey, after lowering my car i realized the rear was too low for my taste so i called the dealer today to get thicker spring pads. now as far as i know they range from 8mm to 23mm in 5 mm intervals...the guy at the dealer told me that they range from 5mm to 17 mm in 4 mm intervals and that i have
13mm (going by VIN #)??? wtf? does he know what he's talking about or are some models different...i ordered the 17mm anyway but i would like to know if they have the 23mm for my car so at least i have the option...thanks guys

Here is a link about spring pads:
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...highlight=pads

From what I know, the pads range from 5mm to 17mm in 4mm intervals. Sunman said that most cars have #3 pads (13mm) and those with sport package are likely to have #2 pads.

Hope that helps.

The largest size is the 17mm. Mine came with 9mm and most other people said the same. I installed the 17mm with my H&R sport springs and it looks pretty level with the front. The gap is a little different but the car is level.

I have the 19's with 35ET and I trimmed the little plasic tab on the rear part of the wheel well. I have very little rubbing, once in a great while. I have to have at least three or more in the car and hit a big bump. And still it is very slight. Tires are General UHP's in 265/30/19.

This might be a weird question. Can you see the difference if you change from #1 spring pads to #2 spring pads?

ite...after doing some research i still dont get the diff between the pads.

I want to get H&R Springs and drop the car as low as possible with out any rubbing (so when i turn my wheel they dont hit the fender...cuz they already do that)

The H&R springs are used...i want to get i guess #2 pads in the back and cut the H&R 1 coil in the front. Would i have to roll my fenders?>

How much do you think rolling the fenders would run along with installing and having the front spring cut a coil????

Depends on they wheel you are using.

Depends on the installer.
