Does the old 6CD fit the 2005?

I plan to keep my 6CD player from the 2001 C for the new 2005 (which now of course has the single in dash).

Can the old unit be moved over. The dealer is not sure (oh ya).

It's not the looks, something about the electronic connection to the deck. It's an optical link and may not work on the new version.

I need to know before I sell the old car.

from what I'm being told from my service dept, unless you get the 6 disc changer installed at the factory in 2005, you can not add it later...with that being said, I would think that you could not put in your old one to the 05.

i answered this in the audio forum but you cannot add a 01 changer to 05 cars because the 01-04.5 has a d2b System and 05 has MOST system. Not interchangable. And you should be able to add a changer to 05 car with no problems

Sunman, how about replacing the stock 2003 MB tape deck with the Euro Audio10 CD player ? will that work with the stock 6CD changer in the glove box ? How easy is that install ?

Audio 10 will connect to the changer. Just add it to the fiber optic loop.

Nothing MB related (sorry)
Both Audio 10 CD units and comand units for W203 from 2000 to 2004.5 which are to be, or have been installed later, are compatible with possible factory fitted CD changers.

Am I getting confused?

The original question

Can you fit the 6CD changer from a 2001 to a 2005 C Class?

I heard no. Is that the consensus?
