they are going to get you pretty good. Lease vehicles need to come back in tip top shape or else your going to get hammered. Goodluck.

why'd you try to install something that requires drilling on a lease?! I don't think the shop should pay for it... but whatever, good luck.

The shop should pay for that. I used to work at an audio shop and if we did a hack job like that we needed to pay for it! Also if there is a plastic panel that covers the metal then you are fine. Just replace the plastic covering it so they do not have any reason to look behind it! This is perfectly acceptable. I have Sat radio in my leases Saturn that is being returned in a few weeks. There are holes in the roof for the Antenae. But certain things are allowable so I will plug them with black hole plugs and it will be just fine. They are smaller than the allowable hole/dent size! You get a card that is used to measure the allowable damage and compare! You will get this in a kit before lease end!

Lease

I used to have a lease and the rule of thumb is if they put a Credit card over the area and it covers all the damage then you are ok. But if it doesnt then u are screwed.

I will take it to a shop that can sand it, fill it and refinish it.

Otherwise try cover it up somehow.

When I returned my lease they sent a guy to do inspection and he overlooked a lot of things, they usually check the interior (passenger compartment) and exterior. He didn't really check the trunk. He spent about 15 mins and that was it. U pass the inspection U R Good to go.

Good luck.

best of luck but i dont expect the best out come. when you lease, you are pretty much renting the vehicle. just like when you rent a house or an apt. the landlord doesnt want holes in the walls or tears in the carpet. i dont think the shop should pay for it, and you did get the radio for free so think of the money you saved on the head unit, you can apply towrds your lease turn in.

Those holes are in the trunk....correct? Go to a good hardware store and you can buy black plastic plugs to cover the holes. Many cars have these same plugs in the doors (jams) where holes were drilled to do paintless dent/ding removal from door dings on the new car lots. I doubt the inspector will ask about them but if they do just say it came that way.

I know when I traded in my Lexus they didn't look that carefully...

Go to Pep Boys and get a piece of carpet and some contact cement. Then glue the carpet over that panel.

thanks for suggestions but i already went to the mb dealership in vancouver they told me they would give me 20000 for my car my lease payout is 28000
so that means i have to pay the difference of $8000?!?! (canadian)

i dont think that fair!

i have abot $ 5000 in damages in the previous 3 years of ownership
and 75,000 KM now i understand the car is not in the greastest shape but still....

O on another note i was lookin at a CLK 500 white with AMG kit.
there asking 68,880 what u guys think?
