Smile New 05 C230k SS owner, came to say Hi~

Hi, I previously owned a 2k2 Nissan Maxima 6spd. However, after 2 years of ownership I lost it in a flood, insurance gave me what its worth and took the car away..

Here are some pictures of the car:

More Image can be seeing Here!!!

I replaced it with a 2k5 C230K Sedan w/6spd. Here are some pictures:

More Image can be seeing Here

I've been on Maxima.org fourm for two years and loved it, people were friendly and informative.........hope I can find the same here on MB fourm

Thanks for all the replies~ :p

I want to do some upgrades (btw, I used the search function already), but seems like C230 is not really "MOD FRIENDLY" compare to my old Maxima.

Mods I found through search function are mostly cosmetics, such as Clear bumper lense, Kleeman and Brabus Body kits (Cost an arm and a leg price tag), and wheels with larger and wider tires.

Performance: I only found couple people mention somthing about a SuperChip, or some kind of ECU Tuning?? Otherwise just pully. I don't see anything like a Intake or a exhaust system like I would easily find on most Japanese cars.

Perhabs someone can fill me in on "How to mod a C230"?, This is my First Benz and I don't know where to begin with this car.

I know I definitly want to replace the orange bumper lens on the front bumper, anybody know where I can find a good looking spoiler for my car? My trunk seems to be very empty right now~

Pully and Computer upgrade would be nice (If its proven to produce some real HP)

Thanks for the help~

there are many mods out there. cosmetic, euro options and some preformance. euro impact strips (deletes the amber light), electronic folding mirrors, clear lenses, euro split mirrors, etc. there are quite alot of mods out there for the C230WZ. not many in the way of pulley or chip, but there are exhaust, not sure about intake. im more into the cosmetic or OEM mods myself.

white and whiter
congrats on the new ride.

the clear corner you can find them on ebay. painted one you can find them on evosport.com.

you can find rear spoiler (replica ones if you don't want to spent too much) on formymercedes.com

good luck modding the car. haven't seen any real performance mods for the C230k's 1.8 engine. Lots of companys are working on it for sure tho.

welcome. the c230 ss is a great car, you'll love it.

very strange coincidence - this guy i used to work with had a nissan maxima 2001 i think, and it was destroyed in a flood too hah. after a tropical storm hit, all of the salt water from the storm surge definitely f*cked his car up. anyway, he got a ford f150 svt lightning truck though. although that's a lot faster, i hate trucks, so i definitely think you made a better decision than him

Welcome to the board.

For mods, cosmetic and otherwise, a good place to start is with Harris and MBenzNL on here. They are both sponsors of this board as well. HTH

OOPs. Lets not forget evosport.

Corporate lackey! :p

Supersprint ( www.supersprintna.com )should be developing headers/exhaust for your engine soon. Eisenmann (info at www.eisenhaus.com ) has exhausts for your car already. I've got one on my car - very nice sound and looks, but highly doubt that I gained more than a couple of hp, even at the top end.

I haven't seen any intakes. You're VERY limited, power-wise. Pretty much pulley and chip, like you said. However, what you should concentrate on is the schoolbus-like handling. You can get swaybars easily - C32 AMG ones if you're cheap, but H+R, Eibach, and Evosport have thicker ones. They make a huge difference.

Enjoy the car! Hope the power decrease from the Maxima doesn't bum you out.

Glad that you said that you did a search - amdeutsch LOVES to point out the search function to newbies, and you cut him off at the knees.

Thanks for the big welcome~

I know these have been asked, before probably...but can someone tell me real quick what types of bulbs fits in the High beam, Low beam, and fogs? I'm looking to replace it with Piaa bulbs, and I heard Silvania Silverstars are a waste of money so I wouldn't even want to go there.

P.S. are Bumper light just regular wedge bulbs? Also would changing light bulbs void the factory warrenty?? It doesn't on my Nissan, but I don't know how stricted Mercedes's are with changing things......even if its just a light bulb.

Another question I have is , I paid $32500 out the door (Tax and registration included) for my 05 C230K SS w/ Sun roof package, and heated seats. 31Miles on the car. is that a ok price? :p

yes, the bumper lights as well as the city light next to your headlights are just regular wedge bulbs

I did the same thing (replaced all bulbs with super white/blue piaa). It definitly makes a big difference.

They are H7 - or did they switch to H4?. Do not get PIAA - they are bogus. Get H7 VisionPlus from Philips. Or use the "Search" button - many threads on this topic.

Makes the light bluer, but you have lost road illumination and gained glare in process. That's the difference.
