ABSOLUTELY APPALLED by MB Build Quality as of late--look what I just noticed...
It's either a company car or a permanent loan from the folks.
1. the factory failed to detect it.
2. the dealer failed to detect it when they prepared the car.
3. bringing the car back to the dealer to correct something that should have been done right is not normal.
i sure hope i won't have to go through this experience in a couple of months.
That's not a build quality problem, that's dealer setup. Ive seen far worse on BMW's, Acura's and yes, even a few of the oh so great lexi's.
oh yeah and my current car, a bmw 328i, was perfect when I bought it in '99.

one day the aston martin car company got a call from a rich middle eastern customer. he complained that his new aston martin had stopped running after about a week. so, aston martin sent the engineer who had built the car to this country in the middle east to correct the problem. it's the company's policy to do so.
the engineer got there and after he had checked out the car throroughly, he told the owner: your car is out of gas. just fill it up and it will run again.
