Sway bar bushing size?

2002 cl230 kompressor

Hello there I am trying to redo my suspension and having a heck of a time figuring out what size sway bar bushings I need. 10mm, 13 or 15?? and what size sway bar and also if I have a sports suspension or non sports suspension?

i looked up my vin in the Russian decoder and it says it has the “sports package”. So I’m assuming that means it has the sports suspension. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi. How do you know your car has the sport suspension or not.

As I have to purchase front sway bar link. And they have 2 sizes according to if I have sport suspension or not.
Ex: length 276mm or 277mm for sports suspension.

Thanks

Give your VIN to the local dealer to get the PN for the sway bars installed in your car.

There are a few variants of the suspension. Not sure where you're located, but I'm not sure if "sport" or "evolution" is the same setup. MB does weird things with the trims between countries sometimes. You might want to add your location to your signature. I think there are at least 3 configurations if not 4: normal/luxury, sport/evolution, AMG.

If you're looking to upgrade, the C32 AMG rear is a direct swap. The front requires a bit of modification but isn't terribly difficult. Sway bar install

Hi Slammer thank you so much for your help.
I believe it's Sport Evolution in my case.

But I see written "Evolution" only on the front carpets.

Not on the sides of the doors.

So. Do you mean if I have the sport evolution series. I actually have defo the "Sport suspension"?

That would help for me getting the correct parts.

Thanks.

If your car has the Evolution package, then you have the sport (sport but non AMG) suspension. In this case, the C32 AMG sway bar is a direct swap.

My understanding is that the sport/AMG sway bar end links have 12mm bolts, while the non sport end links use 10mm. So the issue is with matching the hole sizes between the end links and sway bar, and end link and struts. You don't have this problem.

The AMG sway bar (at least the revision I purchased) has the rubber bushings molded right into the bar. The very early (2002 ish) ones had separate removable bushings. I've had the sway bar installed for over 15 years and the rubber still looks as good as new. The only failure in the front suspension was a sway bar ball joint boot, which happened at some 240k km. The front bar doesn't even have any rust.
