2003 m271 oil in intake

Hey guys looking to see if anyone might have an idea on my problem. Recently replaced the timing chain and had the valve seals done in the head. Got the car back together and running. All seemed good, until I went to go for a drive. It started smoking really bad. Pulled the spark plugs and all 4 cylinders have oil in them. Pulled the intake back off and the manifold had a lot of oil in it. Seems like it’s coming from the crankcase breather on the valve cover. Supercharger is pulling the oil out of valve cover and into the intake. I’ve replaced the PVC valve and hoses also. Anyway to know if the crankcase valve in the valve cover is good?
Or maybe oil is not draining out of the head quick enough?

This place is a joke.
You should have never touched it in the first place. It's a 17 year old C-class, it has no value. Drive it until it stops, pull your license plate off and walk away.

The car ran fine before the timing chain job?

Was the oil overfilled after the job?

Some oil will always go through the valve cover into the intake via the attached hose visible from the top of the engine. There are 2 routes for the excess crankcase air to escape for the M271.

It is also normal for the intake to be somewhat coated in oil. I was shocked at how much oil came out of the muffler (the plastic box right after the intake/filter box) when I tipped it over.

No the car had low compression in one cylinder before. So had the head reconditioned. I drained all the oil. Changed the timing chain and tensioner while I had it apart. I know of the two spots where the motor will vent. Changed the hoses and check valve. Most of the intake tubes had a skim of oil. But when I tipped the intake manifold on its side after removal, oil came pouring out.

That doesn't quite sound right. In a properly running engine, the intake manifold will only receive oil from a) the crankcase hose which feeds into the throttle body (nipple on the side), and b) the valve cover hose which then goes through the supercharger and baffle and intercooler then throttle body butterfly valve, in that order. These things do get pretty oily though.

Not even sure how oil would pool inside the intake manifold. Any excess would get sucked through the intake manifold and into the cylinders.

How much oil did you pour back into the engine after the timing chain job?

Is your car asking for oil? I'm wondering if what you're seeing is actually "old" oil which is now being sucked through the system and burned off. If this is the case, an Italian tuneup is in order.

Ya im not sure, I drained all the old oil and replaced with new. I’m not sure either. I took the head back off and had the machine shop guy come have a look. He figures maybe the rings are toast and it’s blow y creating to much pressure in the crankcase causing the excessive venting.

I see your idea.
However, it doesn't work that way, that easily.
There is still the Vin# that is all over the parts on the car. VIN# can be traced to your license plate / tag.
So yea, doesn't work that way.
Mind as well, just donate it or bring it to the junk yard.

The engine has way more life than that. I would check to see if this isn't just excess oil from previous engine work.

Do you know about the secret oil level and dyno mode (all traction control fully off) menu?

Key to position 1, push the reset/trip button 3 times (car should beep once then show battery voltage), key to position 2, cycle through the menu. It'll show the oil level to the nearest 0.1L.

Check the oil level, then start the car and do an Italian tune-up and see if the oil level is actually dropping. Remember that the actual oil level shown using this method won't be accurate unless the engine has been off for a few minutes.

I didn’t know about this little trick, thanks for that. Yes I agree it still has lots of life left which is why I elected to do this job in the first place.
