sounds good !!! I just bought (2 weeks ago) a 2004.5 (FREE Maintenance) C320 (V6) Sport Sedan - metallic pewter w/ charcoal interior with same options for $25K out the door (includes: $10K Honda Accord trade-in and $1500 Coupon, tax & fees).

Like the DREW said, go for the extended warranty, if you're going to keep the car for more than 4 years. I paid $1750 through MB dealer in CHICO, CA. Over the phone, less than 10 minutes. My warranty now goes for 7 years from time of purchase. You have one year to get it, but I'm not sure if MBUSA is going to keep that price around for long. Some dealers charge around $2450 for the extended 3-year warranty.

You guys are lucky !! In Puerto Rico they don't do the Coupon tour and we have to pay whatever we can haggle. Only difference is that there are about 4 or 5 good independent dealers out there that aren't MB dealers but bring cars in from the states and have some type of discount because they sell them brand new for less than the MB dealer and the MB dealer still gives all warranty. I figure it's that the MB dealer here overcharges so much that these independents can buy them in the states, pay the shipping and import taxes and STILL make a profit selling UNDER the MB Dealer's price !! Incredible right ?

Anyway, if anyone has one of those discount coupons and isn't going to use it, PLEASE let me know if you can help me out to buy mine !

I've had the car for about 2 days now. The dealer tried to sell me extended warranty for 3 years for $2800! Those *******s! Thank god for MBWORLD.ORG!

How long do I have before I can't get extended warranty through MB directly?

1 year I think? But my point to you was to get it into your total cost thus part of your payment.....As of now your paperwork might be able to be adjusted to include that $1750 for the warranty......

I'm not going to finance it through MBUSA and I'm going to buy it from an independant dealer. I decided I can get a better deal at my Federal Credit Union. They offered 1.9% .

I found out how the independants do it. They buy them at a real discounted price from an MB Dealer in Tampa, Florida and even paying the import tax and shipping still make a mess of money and sell it cheaper than the local MB Dealership ! The car I like has 20 miles on it. That makes you wonder how much these MB Dealers are really making on each car !! The local MB Dealer said it's OK and they honor MB Warranty because the warranty is paid to them anyway by MBUSA so they don't really care who sold it, they just want you to buy a MB and not another make.

Can I still buy the extended warranty from MBUSA directly or do I have to go to the local MB Dealership ?

Does it extend to 7 years only or does it give you more miles also ?

I just paid $2800 or so for a two-year extention on the standard one-year Starmark Warranty for my W208 last week at Fletcher-Jones Mercedes. I don't see anything contradictary on the MBUSA.com website?

I see it now. It would appear as though I was royally reamed by Fletcher-Jones Mercedes. Hell, the "display" advertising the extended warranty had this same price on it, so I had assumed that it was legitimate. They did inform me, however, that I could cancel the extended warranty before it kicked in for a full refund. I'm going back there when they open on Tuesday... either i'm getting the difference, or i'm cancelling the extended warranty for a full refund!

Once again Anaheim_Drew has saved someone money.................Over $1000 in this case.... I would not be offended if a nice set of clear corners were presented as a form of gratitude

Hi. Anyone with an extra coupon that I can use for the C230 purchase? I missed the tour due to family problems. The C-Spot will be fine with me. Please help this poor guy in his first Benz purchase.

Thanks.

I went to MBUSA and can't find the Extended Warranty for New cars (found the Starmark ones though) but the dealer where I have a good firm offer to buy my car gave me a price sheet he printed somewhere (probably not the official website). It claims extended 12 months/100k miles for $1580.00 / 24 months/100k $1990.00 & 36 months/100k $2380.00

My big question is this warranty bumper to bumper extension of the original 4 year 50k warranty or does it have some additional restrictions ? Is there an area on the website that lists everything it covers if it isn't bumper to bumper ?

Apparently, I was overcharged because Rhonda in Finance accidentally flagged it as an Extended Warranty for a new vehicle, not a used Starmark vehicle. This error has since been corrected, and she did apologize.

Regretfully, they only accepted the fax of the coupon as proof when they wrote the contract and gave me on paper credit for a $1500 cash downpayment. I had to send in the original along with the signed contract and my bank checks.

Appears FJ here in LV is demonstrating the same sales practices as FJ in CA.

Question, though, about the MBUSA extended warranty and what it covers. There are a pile of non-manufacturer warranty firms out there with pricing about the same as MBZ but each and every one says they provide better coverage than the dealer. Somebody has to be wrong.

What's everybody think? Hopefully somebody will have time to look at www.carbyingtips.com/warranty.htm and give a detailed comparison.

After suffering through a failed TCU with only 1300 mi on our car, I want to buy an extended warranty, but I'm basically cheap and don't plan on making anyone richer than they deserve to be.

Chuck
