In dash cd got stuck!

my '05 c230 SS had a small problem on the way to work this morning. when i selected cd0, i got a 'cd error' display on my radio console and when i pressed eject nothing happened. there was a cd in the dash, so i grabbed a cd from my changer and gently tried to tickle the mechanism inside. the stuck cd then starting playing and i was able to eject it at that point. not a big deal, but i was wondering if anyone new what might have caused this problem.
thanks

sticky CD possibly. if there is like syrup from a soda on the CD or something it could cause the CD to get stukc.

I had that problem too, certain cds (one in particular-Good Charlotte) kept getting stuck- no idea why, it wasnt sticky or anything, i was able to eventually take it out but that was after turning the whole thing off a few times... Also my comand cd has frozen on me numerous times- and shut down completely on its own

Further proof that CD/CD-R drives are NOT cup holders and CD's are NOT coasters..... :p

Hey guys, sounds just like the problem I had with my Lexus IS300, 6 Disk in dash CD, single slot, feed in CD and they stack.

Personally I think its a **** design that Toyota or whomever in Japan builds their CD Changer Drive won't admit to. But they replaced under warranty. With the nasty note taped to each removed CD (which had to be mailed to me later) (1) don't use ones you make yourself (2) don't use stick on lables (3) use only retail CDs and don't use any that are too clear.

Amazingly enough, used the same CDs in the new drive and never had a problem, EXCEPT, my wife didn't use the CD changer because... for about a year and we took out all the cd's. Then it got stuck and I had to try and recycle it four or five times before it started working again.

Almost sounds like the old thing use your electric windows or lose them.

Chuck

What works for you and your hamster is a lot different than a stuck cd.... Your hamster has a tail to grab.

I only have cd's get stuck due to the label rising up on CDR's.

Another thing you might think about is that if your cd has a label on it. If it has a label that you put on, the heat from the cd player might cause it to get sticky.
