2001+ C240 2.6L engines K&N filter part # K33332181
2001+ C32 3.2L engines K&N filter part # K33332256
all run around $40-$50 each at various auto parts stores (+ tax) or internet web sites (+ tax &shipping).
However, if you have increased HP gains via pulley kit or ECU upgrade coupled with a better out-flow exhaust system, then the air filter could give you a little added boost (not noticeable) but some (mostly a better performance feature). When I get my AMG exhaust put in, I will probably go for the K&N filter. All of this I've heard from my MB tuner shop, so I can't speak from personal experience. But these guys know what they're talking about.

I've heard accounts where some people say their car has much better pick-up and revs a little easier and the engine as a whole is more responsive, and then others who say they notice absolutely NO improvement whatsoever.
I'm going to try a new K&N air filter when my AMG exhaust is installed later this week. I should probably wait and see how the exhaust does first,
and then see if I can notice anything with the K&N filter.
I'll probably won't be able to notice much individually... so I'll have my wife drive it now (without the AMG exhaust or filter) and then afterwards with both additions installed.
