I don't think it is the right one. The 4 pin white connector (Female) that you are supposed to connect to has 2 black wires, 1 yelow and 1 brown.
The one you shown on your PIX has only 2 wires.
This loose connector is buried way in the bottom of the plastic tray. I have to fish it out and it is some where in the middle of the door sill.

That looks like the connector in the picture. The connector number is X39/36 and has four terminal pins. I am not sure what the two pin connector is for. It does not look like the 2 pin connector is mated to the x39/36 connector.

Thanks for the great thread - just installed my AUX cable today. Ran a 6 ft cable out the glove compartment, down under the passenger side floormat and up toward the cup holder.

Does anyone know whether the iPod integration kit uses this same connector? I'd like to eventualy get the connector and have the AUX used for my after-market Sirius receiver. Is that possible?

Hi Folks, Great info on this thread. Please allow me to ask a basic question based on the information on this thread.

I have a 06 E500 w/Comand. I have the Aux jack in the glove box. Does this allow me to buy a cable with a headphone jack on each end and play through the stereo simply by pressing the Aux button on the Comand?

Sorry for the basic question-Thanks for any input (No pun...)

Question Has anybody gone to Al & Ed's to get this done?

There is an Al & Ed's close to where I live. They have a huge sign that says they can do it. I am wondering if anybody has gone to them to get their ipod to work with their Head Unit. I have a 2004 SS Kompressor with the Bose system.

06 C230 Black/Black
Confirmed for 06 c230 SS. Just did it right now. Took me about 20 min. That A-Pillar is a b*tch to remove though. I cracked it a little bit on the bottom when I tried to pull it off to the side. It helps when you try to pull it towards you. I got the part from Walter's MB in Riverside for about $45 including tax.

2005 C230 SS Kompressor
It was a breeze installing the cable harness to my car. I ordered the cable from Escondido MB for $39.00. Their is a new sub-number for the cable if you plan to purchase it which is A 210-440-5005. The parts manager did not have a clue about the cable harness and he was trying to tell me about Ipod kit that they are selling for about $300. I told him that this cable is all I need and he still doesn't believe me that it will work. I will be going back to the dealer to fix a recall and I can show him how it is done. This has been a excellent forum and thanks for excellent thread..

New CLK 350 owner. 6 CD in glove box. Would this setup work to get XM? Would it take a special connector from XM into the glove box?

Wink

Hi, I had looked at this a couple of months ago but found a pleasant surprise. Have not joined the Ipod user as of yet. I have a e430 2001 and it came with the aux port in the glovebox on the left side wall of the glove box.

Just in case anyone with a 200 e class is interested.

Thanks

Sunny

it is an aux input for any audio device, including dvd player etc as long as the cable is the same size you should be good.

Can this work for the creative zen vision m? So far, I can't find a cable that hooks up the Zen to the Aux Cable. Can someone help before I buy this mp3 player?

I would love to have an ipod in my car....but from this thread it looks like it would be too much work to do. All I have is the basic radio that looks like this guys pic below. I would easily give up the tape or phone button for the ipod. I guess the first thing I should do is go home and press the CDC button and see if I have a aux input.

Is that cable a dell or an after market (generic) auxiliary piece?

Edit: I'm just looking for someone who has used this mod for something other than an ipod. It would be real dumb for me to buy my desired mp3 player (creative vision m) and having already bought the auxiliary cable and not being able to perform this awesome mod. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks to all in advance.
