I have an ipod kit installed in my '04. It acts as the cd changer so you can't have both the changer and ipod, but luckily my car didn't come with a changer!

You can add the Euro command and TV tuner with the wiring harness and that will give you both changer and Aux input. Not so cheap though And it gives you two more inputs with video to connect your video I-pod for watching movies and a PS2 for games while driving no I'm not that dumb!

i just thought of this: is there a way that i can disable my cd changer and plugin the ipod? if so, i can create a y-jack or a switch and connect the cd changer and the ipod. whenever i dont want to use the cds i'll just remove the magazine.

would my idea work?

Hi,

Does anyone ca give us the schema of this cable?
I think it's pretty simple and I want to plug a cable with a male connection (to avoid multiple cable connection losses)

Thanks

My husband and I tried to do this on our cars. He drives an 06 C350 SS, and I drive an 07 C280 luxury.

With his car, everything was fine, exactly as in the pictures and instructed here.

With my car, it looks like the pre-wired cable was being used for something else. There was no connector free. When comparing the two cars, we determined that I do have the cable, but it is connected to something towards the back of the car as the cable went back behind the passenger seat.

I do have the harmon/kardon entertainment package and Sirius Satellite Radio.

Do you think my pre-wired cable is being used for something to do with the Sirius?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Nothing changing outward appearance.
Strongly suggest using Belkin car kit into ur car,it can auto turn off ipod when engine stop.

What's the reference of this belkin kit?
I found one but is for an iPod with Dock Connector (ref : F8V7058eaAPLBLK)

What's yours?

Thanks

I have a '04 so I don't have the aux in.

I wouldn't mind losing use of my changer for the iPod.

What did you use to do this?
Does the head unit work as before, but just think the iPod is the Changer?

Thanks in Advance,
Jkw

If yours is 2004.5, Did you check for the plug on the right side under the trim piece? I just added nav and new harness for tv tuner and it has aux in.

Yea, Mine is a '04.5 Didn't think that would matter as I had the old radio, I guess I'll have to pull the car apart to find out.

Thanks for the advise.

By the way your car looks hot, love white

Search there is something different on some that will allow you a Aux in? Mine didn't have it. The trim comes out prtty easy. there is a little cover over the right side kick panel with a screw under it. then you just pull up on the threshhold look for black plug. But if your radio does not have aux in it most likely wont work

Even if he did have a mystery AUX-in, how what button on the head unit would activate it?

Jkw: I had a Soundgate iPod kit installed, which acts as the cd changer and the head unit works exactly as before. Here's what I got:
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundauxmb1.html
and...
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pieunipod.html

It doesn't do anything fancy like show song titles on the display or have the ability to control the ipod through the head unit, but it charges and plays the ipod wonderfully.

Thanks for the info,
I guess that's the best I can hope for unless I change the head unit.

Do you happen to know of one that works and also looks good w/ Mercades "Organge" interior lighting?

Have you seen the new Pioneer nav (AVIC-D3, I think?) that allows you to customize the display color to match your factory interior?
