DIY - setting up the AUX input for iPod, mp3 player, etc.

thats the only thing i found as well. i ripped everything up and traced all the wires through the back of the HU. no dice. we need the mid wire that connects the aux cable and the HU. however, there's no part number for that mid cable and it was sold as part of the nav's wiring harness..
probably better for you to get the ipod integ kit or swap ur HU to an aftermarket one.

Keep digging. Mine was way under that piece. I thought it was that as well untill i kept moving wires and digging deeper. I finally found it.

the only problem with the integration kit is that only the driver can choose the songs. is this true or can you control from the HU?

where was the final location when you discovered the white plug? if i dig any deeper, i will be able to see my garage floor from the passsener seat.

there has to be a way to figure out where we can get this part from (white connector) and hook it up to the head unit like these other people have done. i am going to try and swing by a dealership with pictures of the part and see what they can do. i can not see how these people do not know what this part is. it's like someone happened to sneak it in there while on the assembly line. either it was part of a NAV system or just a standard aux plug that was included with the HU. there has to be an answer. if not, im going to go to the preowned section and steal one! lol

This maybe the alternative.. but when you add a 12v power source, might experience motor whine input. Only drawback is you have to remove the HU to get to the antenna.
plenty of reviews too.

so i called mercedes USA tech support. the only people that have this white connector are people that have the NAV system HU. if you have the standard HU you WILL NOT have this white cable. AND, you cannot connect the white cable to your regular head unit because it is completely different. yes, this is bad news.
what are our options if we still want to control the ipod from the actual ipod? i need an AUX INPUT!!!

again, anything prior to 07 will have this white plug. so far, none of the 07 owners has the white plug in their rides. I guess benz had to cut cost somehow for the new style rims, spoiler and amg tips exhaust. who knows, maybe that flex fuel system is only 1/2 the cost of a regular system. lol

when you hold down the CDC button, this activates the IPOD INTEGRATION kit option for us 2007 owners, NOT any aux input. they probably did it this way to FORCE the ipod kit as the only option in the new 07 models.

i guess the only option is the integration kit or an FM transmitter, which after much experiance, i will never buy one. soo, time to spend another $350 on the ipod kit. anyone know where to get them for cheaper, i found them on ebay for $280

Sorry to resurrect this thread again. I have a question about the pre-wired connector on 2006 C280 without Nav.
The only pre-wired connector I found was not wrapped with black cable but there were 4 wires (black, brown, yellow and grey). Is this the connector that we are looking for?
Please see attached pics. Thanks everyone for the help!
