Would it be possible to connect a DVD player to the AUX in cable? I understand I would not be able to control anything from the head unit. Just looking for the sound from the DVD player to come through my speakers. In the process of adding some screens to the headrests and need to figure out a way to get the sound without replacing the head unit.

Thanks in advance!
Anything with a mini-jack output can be connected. You can get all sorts of converters at Radio Shack if you want to connect anything weird. It's a standard 2.5mm TRS connector. If you want to use a source that has a larger output jack, all you need is a converter.

Hi, I have 2005 SLK 200 kompressor with audio 20. When i press CDC for few seconds nothings happens - it just says that no cdc available and goes back to the cd screen.

Do I have any opportunities to connect an ipod on the factory audio system or i'm screwed?

Please help!

I don't see why not, and it should be pretty easy for you to test, no? I assume you have a DVD player.....just connect from the headphone jack, though that will give you a variable output that will require you to control volume from BOTH the DVD player and HU. If it has A/V output jacks you'd likely get a fixed output.

DVD player is on order, just trying to plan ahead. So I could connect it through the headphone jack?

It sounds like it is possible, either this way or through a converter with the A/V jacks on the DVD.

Thanks for the responses.

what model DVD player did you order? Most I've seen have the mini-plug for headphones and (3) RCA jacks for A/V. Like mskembo said, anything you can plug into that 2.5mm stereo jack will work. I put a splitter in mine, and ran an extension to a 2.5mm jack I put by the cigarette lighter from one end, and plugged an iPod adapter (with 30 pin iPod connector) to the other. This way my iPod has fixed output, so it's the same volume as my CD and radio, or I can opt to plug my BlackBerry into the 2.5mm and listen to internet radio

DIY Motorola Android Mount for 2004 MB C240 - Ideas Wanted

Hello All,

I'm a newbie, and I searched awhile for the right forum to post in, so please forgive me if I made an error. I recently had a new Kenwood HU installed in my baby, and it's great. What I'm trying to do now is place my Motorola Android phone in close proximity to the HU so that it's convenient for use. Putting it on the windshield via the available mount would place it too far away to see the GPS function of the phone clearly, or use its Bluetooth Audio and other functions that tie into the HU conveniently. I uploaded a pic of where I'd like to place the phone, directly to the right of the HU on that camel colored strip of dash. I want it to have a finished look, but don't want to drill holes in the dash. I thought about double sided velcro on the back of the phone, but also want to be able to change the phones orientation from landscape to portrait on the fly. Any ideas? W203 (Y2002) Audio 10 USB Connect

Hi,
I need to play my MP3 audio files on my Audio 10 but it doesnt have a USB port. I'm trying to understand my options
1. Would the unit have an aux in to which I could connect an MP3 player? If so, could the multifunction steering audio controls be used?
2. Can I buy an audio system which will fix into my car replacing the audio 10 unit which will have Bluetooth phone connectivity + USB direct connect? My car is a W203 2002 model

Thanks

Thumbs up Great AUX Install

Only thing!!!

You need a T-20 Torx screwdriver, thankfully I was able to hit the store before it was 5pm. Awesome Thread, and thanks to mbworld.org, this site has saved me so much money in DIY.. Truely golden

05+ are pre-wired as it was indicated. Be careful removing side door sill, as it can easily break. First time doing it, took me 30min(Going to store as well!!)

Great man!

It has more to do with your head unit that body style or model year. Hold down your CD Changer button; if Aux Input displays, you've got a connector in the door sill. It's well-buried.

To do the aux in you have to have either nav 01-07 or the radio in 05-07.
So since I assume you have the tape deck you have a few options. You can use the fiber converter that goes where the cd changer is (I have heard some replace the cd changer and some let you keep it) You can do the tape aux hack where you basically solder the leads from a headphone jack to the board inside the radio. Or you can upgrade the radio to either a factory nav unit (this was my choice) or an aftermarket radio (don't do this if you have the bose system)

Trey, on my '07 C280, when I press and hold the CDC button, the display says 'AUX is active'. So, I think my car is wired for AUX input.

Pardon me for not going thru the entire thread, what part do I need to buy to connect to the existing connection (below A pillar or under the interior trim below the front door)?

Talking

Thanks to this thread i saved over 400 from the tools at MB who wanted that much to do a 15 minute job. I have to say the part I got really scared is with the Pillars. Patience so you don't snap one.

Anything over 05+ comes pre-wired. I actually have the base model and it was a little hard to find, but it was surely there tucked under some of the wire harness. I tried going for Belkin adapter for 15$ on kijiji.ca, however there is a buzzing sound being emitted as others were saying so I quickly gave this option up. so far the sound is alot nicer and quality is superior.

All in all, even someone like myself who has no prior experience, was a complete sinch. Save yourself 400$... 400 for what lol. The piece was obtained at MB Ottawa for some od 58$. and 15min of my time...

Sadly for the 07 from my understanding the pre wiring was taken out for the aux. You have to go to the back of the radio and make or buy a harness to plug into the adapter everyone else buys.

Trey, yesterday I checked under the door sil and below the A-pillar; there is no empty plug for AUX. I also looked inside and around the glove compartment. Yup, no connector on '07. :-(

A couple of Nissans, and a C55
I can confirm this plug exists on 05 C55's as I just ran the cable to my center console. Great thread!

A couple things to know for anyone who has just swung right to the last page:

1. The door sill cover on 05's pulls straight up, be firm and it will come up.

2. It is easiest to get the panel off the side of the glovebox and the kick plate off if you pull off the fabric/rubber door gasket first. This will allow you to see the yellow clips on the kick plate and figure them out much better. Also it is easier to put both pieces back with it off. Of course you need to push it back into place before putting the door sill cover back.

3. The plug is located just forward of the front door opening in the wiring chase.

Actually the thing is that you have explained it very well, I know that this is easy to install but still some people are there around who don't think so. But now your post is definitely going to make their work easy.

Installed the AUX cable a couple of weeks ago in the 05. Really easy job.

The only downside is that the volume is really low and you need to crank the stereo and/or the unit hooked up to the AUX port way up.

Solved the problem by ordering this Boostaroo 12V amplifier. Installed it today and now the volume is on the same level and no need to fiddle with it while switching between sources.
