Go For It !!!
The cost of the changer alone is already much more than that even when buying from 3rd party. If you buy one afterward it cost more and needs installation fee as well.
Just tell Mom you want her to injoy her ride better with a changer

Out Of Control!!
Easy answer: it's her car; if she wants to nickel and dime the dealer about $400, have her do it herself, and leave you out of it.
That's what I'd do. :p

Well...I got my salesman to drop the $400 to their "cost"....guess what, I got the CD-changer for $372 + tax!!!
whoo! whoo! I am a master negotiator!
Anyway my mom will take the CD-changer. We will be picking up the car this saturday and hopefully there will be no more "incidents"

well
well, just to show that things can go wrong, when I bought my coupe, I paid cash for the only and only 03 orion coupe in US that has C5 and C7 manual with oyster. I paid the whole price and two days later, I get a call saying that the coupe that I wanted has been sold to another person. I was instantly pissed and came back to the dealership. I negotiate with them and finally gets an orion with C2, C4, auto, leather, heated seat, cd, and it costs 2000 more than the one that I wanted. I've already got a 1000 discount previously and the dealer said that I can take the car that they have on the lot (which I mentioned) right away for the same price. Isn't life nice? I got a total 3000 discount plus 200 dollar bribe money from the salesman to fill perfect feedback for him. I even gets a 100 dollar gift card. LOL. It's funny. Btw, I bought mine about sept. so there are not too many 03 coupes in the states.

Just FYI, the 2003 C's have the CD changer available factory installed as a $400 option. No more dealer gouging.

If you don't want the changer, tell them to take two minutes to remove it. All it takes is to unscrew about four screws and unplug two wires. Or you can take it out yourself and sell it here or on ebay. You won't get the full $400, but you can get around $300.

Car Buying Question
Just a question maybe somebody out there can answer. I will be picking up my car later this week and was just wondering.. Do dealers accept Credit Cards as a form of down payment? I want to put around 10-15k down on the car but I figured if they accept credit cards, I can get at least 1-2% cash back on the amount since I will be paying off the balance anyways.
Thanks
Thanks

Am I the only one here that thinks differently? Because if it were up to me I'd say to the salesman "I didn't want the car with the CD changer. I won't pay for it. Give me my car or refund me my deposit because you guys broke the contract".
My dealer tried to get me to pay $700 for teleaid. I told him, I don't need it and I don't care for it. Get me a car without it. Obviously he couldn't, so he budged.

generally, i think dealers take up to $3000-4000 dollars down payment from the credit card. they don't want to take so much out of the credit card since they would have to pay 3% to credit card companies and therefore loose money. of course, then it does depend on the dealer, some are nicer than others.

That is a good point...I guess it does not work on a new popular car though The combination my mother wanted for her C320 4matic took me a while to find and this dealer is the only one that had them...
now the tele-aid would be a different story...if they pull the crap with the tele-aid, I will definitely blow the deal (I dont wanna pay the annual fee ). Besides it is $700

I used a Credit card to buy a Neon recently. Had the credit limit bumped up to cover the whole shebang, too. But the dealer would only let me put $2K on the card. They don't want to pay the service fees on $15K to the Credit Card company...
Your results may vary depending on how knowledgeable you dealer's credit manager is.

If you're buying a C320WZ....
We got our first C320WZ sport sedan today. It is Pewter and Charcoal, which looks very nice, although it doesn't really help the sporty appearance. I have always liked Pewter, but it kinda makes it look less sporty.
Anyway, if you're buying one of these, it will almost be a requirement to lower it. Even with the 17" wheels, there is a huge wheel gap. But the 230 sport sedan does not have this. Someone measured it and I think the 320 sat 1.25" higher than the 230. It almost looked lifted. I hope the 4matic doesn't get raised anymore than this. Just thought I would let you guys know what I noticed. It's pretty obvious on first look.

If you are considering buying a C-coupe...
Today, I took a test drive in a C320 coupe. This is the engine this car should have come with from the start. It's smoother(engine & auto trans), more quiet, and more powerfull. If you are considering buying a C-coupe I suggest you get this one!
