Just picked up an '05 C230WZ
Hey everyone. I've been reading up on the boards for about a week or two and finally made my purchase. I got it with the Moonroof, Sound, and Lighting packages. I'm all the way out in Hawaii btw.
Quick question though. I did a search on "stereo", and "harmon kardon" but couldn't find anything regarding an issue I'm having. Just a few hours ago, I started up my car and the stereo was on full bast with only static coming out of it. I turned the audio off so it doesn't blow out the speakers. I'm going to call my dealership especially since I've only had the car for a few days. Anyone have a clue? It does this with radio and the CD changer. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Nice color!
As for the sound... Take it to your dealer, or you can let it sit a night, and see if it's fixed. I've been having a few problems with mine as well.

Apparently I'm not the only one with issues on the H/K...
People that have C55's also have trouble as well.

It was quite iroinic because I wasn't going to get this car. But the third time I went back to MB, this car was sitting right at the front of the showroom. It had all the options I wanted... like it was a sign. I ended up getting it for 33 + fees. It's a little harder to get "good deals" here in Hawaii at luxury dealerships. There's only one Acura, BMW, MB, Lex, and Infiniti here on Oahu.
I love the color though. There's only a handfull of W203's sold in Hawaii with this color.
As for the sound system, I tried it after about an hour and it was fine. It was really weird. I'm debating whether I should still keep my appointment for Tuesday. It would be quite hard for them to diagnose without the system acting up when I bring it in.

Keep your appointment!!!!!!!!!! I know you want to drive but mark my words, if you don't go on Tuesday, that night the problem will be back.....
It was a good deal all things considered

I guess the H/K system has a bunch of bugs in it still...
My appointment is tomorrow (well, in 6 hours). I'll let you all know if they tell me anything pertinent!

I just snaped a couple of shots of my car with one of them having Hawaii scenery in the background.
By the way about my stereo.. the in dash CD ate one of my CD's. It's stuck so my appointment is still on for tomorrow. We'll see what happens.
