2005 Mercedes Benz c230
This is my first time posting
I own a 2005 Mercedes Benz C230. I cranked my car this morning to warm it up. As I was going back in the house I heard a a little noise. I got in my car to run to the store and as I was driving a red light came on saying battery and alternator visit workshop. It made it to the store but coming back home my steering wheel was hard to turn. Can some please tell me what is going on with my car.

If both the power steering and the alternator are affected simultaneously, I would check to see whether the serpentine belt which drives those accessories is broken or damaged. Open the hood and look down in the space between the radiator and the motor. You might want to take a picture and post it. The sound you heard may have been the belt breaking or slipping.
