S-Class W220 tail lights

greengeorgeThe smoked tail lights on C32 look good.
S-class tail lights on a C-class (W203) are dynamic & stylish. Others always said that I bought a new car. This tail lights together with the CL grill improve the image to better.

S tail lights is a given. Those are the LEDs or non. I'm guessing "non" since the top ones don't light up all the time. Give us a hint for the upcoming one.

Frank, you got the inner light to work on the LED versions or NON-LED?

I thought the NON-LED's light up just like OEM and the LED versions were the only ones that didn't have the functionality of the inner light (with exception to the rear fog)?

Either way, care to share how it was done?

I'm guessing he had the wiring schematic changed. Definitely not something I'd trust myself doing.

I've been talking about doing that for a long time, just didn't have the time to sit down and actually do it.

Just taking a guess, Frank, but did you splice the power wire for the outside light into the "inner" light wire? Seemed like the most simple solution, when I was trying to figure out the least complicated way to do it (without losing the functionality of the rear foglight).

LOL...Yeah, I do because the area where my house is at is in the hills and the fog can get pretty nasty, so I use it during those times. Other than that, I never really use it.

Dude, Phil. You must be one of those a-holes on the road that cuts people off left and right...LOL...j/k. How are the lights working (headlights)? I told you they'd replace them.

btw...who's your service advisor over there at bh mb? Mine left and I can't remember who I went to before.

that makes no sense....you know the rear fog only illuminated on the rear drivers side as well right...so you cut someone off, and put on the rear fog which most people dont know thats what it is, and they think your in this nice mercedes with a blown tail light bulb and an anger problem

yeah, I do know that... I've been doing it for a looooooooooong time already though. (I used to do it in my w202 as well and it seems to annoy people.)

during the day though, putting up the rear sunshade is the best. that seems to really **** people off (not that I've done it or anything... :p)

the headlamps are fine... the problem is that since one side is new and hasn't really burnt in, the color of one is more greenish-yellow than the other side (which is more bluish). dude, I was sitting on pins and needles the entire day.

I didn't go to BH MB, I just took it to DTLA Motors b/c BH MB was closed on Sat. I forgot who I used to go to in BH MB, the last time I went for a service there was in 1997... If you do find a good advisor let me know.

Mine is the non-LED version. It is easier to hook up than the LED version if I want to rewire it. I just cut the wires for both inner and outer lights and reconnect them. However I didn't hook up the rear fog wires after I cut them, so basically the green wire that does to the outer running light is powering both outer and inner bulbs. I figured it out after looking at the connector pins and wires for like 2min. Out of all the wires there's actually only 1 single black wire that goes to every single bulbs, so it's easy to figure that if I simply tap the inner wire with the outer one they would both light up. You also don't have to worry about the original wire for the rear fog because it doesn't give you any error msg.

remember the inner part will seem brighter than the outer part due to the bulb for the inner is closer to the actual cover and the outer bulb sits a little further in.

moving on to exhaust SteveL's asking. It is a Weltmeister exhaust, not the custom made one which I'm not selling.
